After months and months of planning we are leaving tomorrow! I am afraid it may rain most of our trip. What are some things inside and outside of the parks we can do if it is raining. I am hoping hurricane Jeanne turns but I think we may get her rain. I really cant reschudle the trip due to work. I am just a bit stressed and need a bit of help. Thank you!!

Did you ever run around in a warm summer rain as a kid and enjoy it? During our trip 2 years ago-December, we had rain 6 or 7 days.......not part of my plan. With DW, 4 children, and both sets of Grandparents in tow, we went to the parks daily, and had a great time! Almost all rides were walk ons. No problems walking into our favorite places for a bite to eat. Think about it....lots of the best rides/shows are indoors. 4 year old was already soaking wet, so no problem talking her into splash mountain! MVMCP went on with overcast skys, parades happened. I had bought dark red ponchos for the 9 of us pre-trip, and ended up looking like a genius to my crew as it was EASY to find each other in the sea of Disney Yellow ponchos!

Sing in the rain, jump in the puddles, howl to the wind, your kids will think you are a maniac, and love you all the more for it!:jester:

I with Wengino - we have had some great days at the parks in the rain - I don't know where everyone goes, but the parks are quiet and you get straight into everything.,

My only suggestion is to way water friendly shoes, cause I spent a day at Epcot squelching round in wet trainers long after it had stopped raining and that was not fun.

My DD and I just got back yesterday from our trip. We didn't get a lot of rain but did have a few sudden and heavy downpours early in the trip and the last day at the parks it was showering off and on. During the heavier rain, it seemed that everyone headed into either the stores or the restaurants. Unfortunately, twice this happened as DD and I were trying to eat dinner so finding a table that was sheltered from the rain was difficult - although we did eventually find one each time. I have to admit I was irritated by the people taking up table space just to wait out the rain while many diners were stuck walking around from one area to another in hopes of getting to sit down for the meal.

When the rain was lighter, most people either went on as usual or pulled out ponchos or other raingear and continued as usual. I was amused by my DD's insistence on using an umbrella during one shower and then going to play in the water area at Toontown - she was already in her swimsuit. I think the rain was lighter than the spray from the waterjets but to her it was definitely different :)

If you have some kind of shoes that are water safe, pack them and have a ball. I wore sport sandals, so I didn't mind them getting wet, had the same for DH and the kids. We put on ponchos when needed, had a stroller cover for longer walks and parking and didn't mind the rain.

I say just keep going! :)

We have never been at Disney when the rain fell for longer than 1/2 hour or so.

Once during a pretty big storm we stayed on the TTA nonstop--the CM let us just stay in the vehicle since there was no line.

Just come prepared with panchos, stroller rain cover, and a small umbrella and keep on going.

We were once at Blizzard Beach during a pretty good rain. The crowd cleared out and we practically had the place to ourselves when the rain stopped.
