What to do....UPDATED!! 7-11 w/photos

A small disappointment today. I was only able to add 1 person to 1 of my ressies. The rest I'll just have to show up and hope we can manage. If not then I guess we'll just be eating a lot of CS meals or spliting up our group. Wish me luck! We leave in just under 4 days.

Sendig you a lot of pixie dustpixiedust:

This is going to be a mess trying to explain, but here goes.

We are heading to Disney in 10 days. My 3rd grade DS has a friend at school who is his best buddie right now. He isn't very well off and lives with grandma. He is a great kid, smarter than a whip and super nice/well behaved. We take him to movies and on short trips (not overnight) etc. Well, a few days ago I mentioned to my 9yo DS that maybe sometime we can take him to Disney. The next day DS asks his friend if he wants to goto Disney with us...in 10 days! :scared1: He asks his grandma who gives the okay and now I have two 9yos that are super excited to goto Disney together! Talk about scramble. I have a 1bd villa so we can fit in the room, but I have all my dining in order. Do you think I can just show up and add him to each meal? I doubt I could redo all my ADRs and add 1 person. We also have Hoop-D booked and CRT. Financially, we can afford the plane ticket and we have park tickets from past trips to use. Its only a 5 night trip so food shouldn't be too bad. We have the dining plan for us, so I guess I would have to add him to the dining plan or pay cash. I'm really torn, I'd love to take him and I think I can make it happen if I move fast and go with the flow. The crazy planner in me just about exploded though...thoughts??

I hope that your family finds some special DISNEY MAGIC while you are there. What a wonderful thing to do (whether planned this trip or not) for that little boy and his Grandmother.

That grandmother must be dancing in her shoes for a break....

She still has a 5 yo girl at home with her...so its not much of a break for her! God Bless her, raising 1 set of kids is enough to send me over the edge :rotfl2:

Boy the things I missed!

Wow, that is truly awesome! Everyone else has been so helpful so far, all I can say is I hope you have a GREAT time and cheers to you and your wife for doing this for this little boy!

Cannot wait until the Trip Report.

I hope that you all have a fantastic trip! Good luck with your ADR's. I've heard that things are easier at the restaurant than over the phone. Maybe check in early in the day and let them know your situation. Hope everything works out.

I happen to know where you can get her an inexpensive velcro frog...what 5 yr old girl wouldn't love that? :rolleyes1

Yep Don...you guessed it! It was on today's podcast so I won't mention another word about it. :goodvibes

Well, all is well on the 4 child adventure. We are staying the night at the Westin attached to the Detroit Metro airport. A little bonus, we were able to get a connecting room for a great price so we are much more comfortable. Anyway, the adventure has begun and we fly out at 9am tomorrow. Tried to secure our last seat together with our original 5 without any luck. Hopefully tomorrow at the gate they can get us all together for the trip down.

I'll be posting on twisney while at the World

I'll keep a log and checkin when possible. With free internet for me at VWL it will be much easier to post while the kiddos are asleep and before I hit the sack.

pixiedust: Have an amazing trip! pixiedust:

What a great mom you are - the kids will have an amazing time - they'll never forget how special this one really was!

Update

Day 1 went smooth, flight was ontime. Got to the hotel all checked in no problems. Were able to add one to our HoopD ressie at the concierge desk. We hung out at the pool and ate Counter Service. My Brother and family are here and also my mother. We ditched the kids (made sure everyone was comfortable) and had a nice meal at Artist Point. Our server was fantastic and the food was very good. A nice finish to day 1.

Day 2 was a FULL day at MK. DD and niece had appts. at BBB at 8:30 so we got into MK early. I love walking down Main Street with few people around. Our young guest was great. I think he was pretty excited, although he is very reserved. We split up while the girl did BBB and I took the 3 boys and my Mom to go to the tomorrowland rope drop. A cast member came up and asked who was going on Buzz. Of course we were, so we raised our hand and got to be the "first family" on Buzz for the day. They took us behind the rope and gave us a certificate and we rode Buzz ALL alone. The cast member gave us the "secrets" beforehand which enabled me to hit 999,999 for the first time ever. At the end we received free photos of our entire party! Great start. Anyway, I don't want to write a full trip report yet, but we were are MK the entire day until after 10pm. Had a great time, lines weren't too bad and the weather was great. One small hiccup at CRT, but overall a great fun filled day at MK.

Off to EPCOT in about 30 mins....
