What to do? One long Disney Vacation or 2 small getaways?

My wife and I are currently questioning our original plan to do a 4 night Bahama cruise on the Dream next May and spend a couple of days at WDW for Star Wars Weekends. Our 10 year anniversary is next April and she wants to have our son celebrate the occasion with the cruise and Star Wars weekend combo. I'm all for it, however, between these 2, we could go on 2 small getaways.

Instead, we've been talking about doing just a 3 night cruise this fall on the Dream and for our 10 year anniversary, her and I get away to Jamaica or Mexico for 4 nights. We have gone to Disney World 4 times since our 6 year old has been with us. We've recently just went to Star Wars weekends this past May and loved it. It's been a long time since we've had a trip alone and that's kind of where I'm leaning towards.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would do the two vacations or a longer cruise. Skip wdw. They have 7 day cruise with the star wars theme and they go to Mexico.

Agreed. I'd go with the longer cruise -- 3 days is just too short. And your son is old enough to enjoy the kids' club so you can have some "alone" time as a couple.

Happy Anniversary!

All things Disney aside, as someone who's been married 22 years, if going somewhere just you and dw is not something you usually do, I'd go spend dedicated time with just her. I love to travel with my kids, but I think true alone time with my dh is good for our marriage. We only do it every few years, but it's worth it.

If you love all things Disney then why not take a Disney cruise with just the two of you, and take your son next year?

We love Disney so our first two Disney cruises were alone. Not only have we've been married for 20 years but our children are still in elementary school. They were a little upset, but quickly got over it once we promised them a disney cruise as a family. We told them 'Daddy and Mommy needed a bit of "MAGIC" for our anniversary and we could get it from Mickey on the cruise ship'. :lovestruc
