I just booked flights for a quick trip during dc's school winter break. Our plan was to go to AK/MK on Wednesday, Feb 21st, Legoland on Thursday, Feb 22nd, and Epcot/DHS on Friday, Feb 23rd.

We'll likely be at POP or All Star Sports. How crazy will it be to get to Epcot or DHS the day or race, are we better off swapping and going to Legoland that day instead? Not sure how the traffic will be.

Any tips appreciated!

I'm considering changing our plans to AK/Epcot on Wednesday, DHS/MK on Thursday and Legoland on Friday if we won't get stuck in hours of traffic trying to get off of Disney property and on the road to Legoland.

We usually go for 7 nights, I'm not used to planning for a quick school break trip and of course ds is asking for Legoland which I hadn't planned on. :confused3:faint:

Do you know about the "kids go free" coupon they always run in the free Lego magazine? And yes, unless the course has changed for next year, I'd swap my Epcot day; it could possibly impact your morning there a little. Although a 5k is pretty short; I'm not sure of the start time, but it could easily be done and gone before park open. Helpful, aren't I??!?

The race starts at 5:30am, yes, really crazy early in the morning. At the VERY latest, the runners will be done by 7:30 am. Epcot will not be open by then.

There will be nothing to worry about regarding dodging runners during that day.

Oh thank you so much, this is super helpful!!! I imagined racers on the roads all day long.

This is my 5th year running princess and it's busy week due to presidents day. With that said, there will be NO interuption in your day because of the race, 5K, or 10K. For instance, I'm a slow runner and I finished the 10K last year, took finish line pics, got on the bus to BC, made a mimosa, ate a snack, walked to EP and got there 20 min before opening. The only slight interruption would be the half and that's only MK because some of the roads will be closed. But the parks? No interuption, they make people quit the race if they are behind on time..So the parks will open with no runners in them. Legoland is nice just go in with the mindset that, it's not Disney, oh and the food is abolutely awful. There's a Publix right across the street, I highly recommend to grab some sandwiches before entering the park.
They often do fun, special events on the weekend so you may want to check if anything is going on.
