what to do if you can't bike?

I'm looking into an ABD vacation (Not sure which one yet), and I noticed many of them have Bike rides listed. I never learned how to ride a bike. Will this cause a problem on trips that include a bike ride?

We did the Scotland, San Francisco and London/Paris ABDs all of which included biking. I recall there was and alternative activity for those who didn't want to bike. San Franciso was a trolley tour, Scotland was a Land Rover tour and I don't recall the alternate activity for biking in Versailles but I am sure there was one.

Versailles was a walking tour. Ireland was a pony and trap ride. There'll be some alternative; don't worry.

Australia just gave you free time on your own. We didn't ride bikes and neither did a couple of other families. It's unlikely you'll be the only one not riding.

Versailles was a guided walking tour of the gardens, but I was the only one who wanted it, so I got a personal, one-on-one tour with our local guide! Fabulous! (There were others who didn't bike, but they went walking on their own. There were also carts you could drive.)

And in Germany, the alternate activity was a longer ferry ride. We picked up the bikers on our way to lunch!

I am not a big "biker" myself. On the Germany trip it is through the woods which was quite nice but then a big hill up.....a lot of people did not like it too much. I would have skipped the ride and taken the boat ride if I had known. "I'm on vacation" is my mantra and I try to avoid any physical activity that may lead to sweating.....LOL.They will arraign something else if you don't wish to ride a bike, you'll be taken care of quite nicely.

We did the Germany ride this past June. We enjoyed it, but it is definitely not a relaxing or leisurely ride! There were several times we had to get off of our bikes and push them up hills. The bikes are also mountain/off road style (rather than something like a cruiser), which I found challenging and a bit uncomfortable to ride.

I'm glad they offer optons for those who can't ride or don't want to ride. For me, it is one thing I look forward to,but then again, we were the crazy ones who did the difficult 25 mile ride on St. Maarten during our cruise in April...so, my dear is the bike may actually be too leisurely for us. It sounds like the one in Germany may actually be pretty good though.

In South Africa it was just taking the bus back to the winery....just me on the huge tour bus......
We did a Tauck Bridges trip this year, and they offered a bus ride back too.
