What to do for one night?

Please pass on any ideas for what to do at WDW the night before we head out on our cruise. We won't be arriving until late afternoon. Don't want to use park admissions that night. Any good thoughts?

Three suggestions.

One- Do a MK hotel tour. Park at the TTC, and ride the monorail around to either the Contemporary or the Polynesian. Hotels you can get to using the Monorail and the boat system include the Grand Floridian, Contemporary, Polynesian, Fort Wilderness Lodge (boat only), and the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds (boat only). I suggest making advance reservations at O'Hana for dinner at the Polynesian. From there, take the monorail to the GF, and take the boat to the Wilderness Lodge. Try to catch the boat from the Wilderness Lodge to the Magic Kingdom between 9:45 and 10:00. You'll be able to see the fireworks show above the castle, and they may even pipe in the music on your boat!

Two - Go to Downtown Disney Marketplace. Eat at Wolfgang Puck's Express, shop at World of Disney, Mickey's Kitchen, and the Disney Christmas store, and get a Goofy's Glacier for dessert: A frozen concoction that you can dress up like a disney character.

Three - spend an extra $50 a person to go to the Hoop-dee-Doo Revue. Expensive, but worth it, given you like ribs, fried chicken, strawberry shortcake, and REALLY corny jokes.

A family mini-golf tourney at Fantasia Gardens would be fun too.

How about a stroll around the Boardwalk. You can get dinner at any number of places. You can even watch illuminations from there.

I would also vote for the Hoop Dee Do, pricey but worth it. Great show, great food, great drinks. All you can eat and Drink, good way to pass a non park evening before a cruise.

We always go there on our first night since we do not do the parks the first day.
book it in the evening so you can watch the fireworks from MK and the night time electric floating parade. It is fun to go sit out on the beach at the Poly after dinner and watch the Fireworks. We also enjoy riding the Monorail!

I vote for Chef Mickeys... It will truly get you in the Disney mood... I love O'Hanas and strongly uggest eating there but if I only had 1 night I would do Chef Mickeys for the Atmosphere!!!

We are doing the following the night before our upcoming Disney cruise:

We are booked at the AKL where we arrive late afternoon. We plan on hanging out by the pool/hot tubs and soak in the atmosphere of the AKL - have a cocktail or two while the kids swim. We then have 7:30 ressies at Boma - something the kids all like and talk about. We consider the room/resort to be somewhat an attraction in itself, at least for one day.

Other good choices would be staying at boardwalk resort and taking that all in (if you have $$, you could take in a illluminations cruise); Downtown Disney area; or take in the ambiance of another resort such as Polynesian or Wilderness

Four really fun things outside the parks in the eveningtime that I have enjoyed several times in the past are: Hoop Dee Do Review, Cirque du Soleil, Spirit of Aloah (a luau) at the Polynesian, and Medieval Times in Kissimmee. All except Cirque du Soleil include dinner, and the House of Blues is next door to the Cirque. You can't miss with any of these choices.

I vote for doing a character meal at one of the resorts like Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary or 1900 Park Fare at Grand Floridian. We do a character breakfast on the day we leave the world. It gives something Disney without going to the parks!!
