Our dates just so happen to fall in a way that's making planning a complete stay almost impossible. :confused3 we're coming on the 14th of June (which is the last day of the spring promo) and want to stay 9 nights. We couldn't get a complete stay at one resort (that we wanted) no matter how hard we tried when we first tried to book, so we ended up with a reservation for just 5 nights.

THEN, they came out with the summer promo and that was a much better deal than paying rack rate like we were with our original booking. so we switched, but we couldn't have our first night on the reservation, because then we were outside of the promo period.

NOW the website won't even let me search for a room for that first night (the 14th) and I don't know why.

If you had ONE night uncovered, what would you do? Stay off site? We're probably not going to do parks that day. we should arrive sometime before noon (we're only driving from St. Pete.) We have an ADR for T-REX at DTD for that evening, so we'll probably make it a DTD day. What do you think? We will have a car, so transportation isn't an issue. Two adults, two kids. We don't want to spend a ton for just one night. Ideas? TIA!

I would suggest you stay offsite, especially where you are not planning on going to the parks that day. I agree make it your DTD day!

I just tried your date for the 14th and there were many value, mod and deluxe rooms still open.
I would either stay in a value that night or find something cheaper near downtown disney.

We had this problem last year. We had our trip booked and were staying at CS. Well we could NOT find a flight home for the day the reservation ended and CS had no rooms. So we had to book a Value for one night. In the end I called CS and they had a room, the room we were staying in actually and all the mess was avoided. I would suggest calling and speaking with a manager, I did and it turned out to be a MAGICAL MOMENT. No checking out/checking in , shuttling your stuff from here to there and missing wonderful park time.

It sounds like you are still searching under "Summer Room Offer" for check-in on June 14 and that's why it won't let you search. You need to search under "Resort Room Only" and tons of onsite availability will come up. It looks like you are staying at AKL? If so, for convenience, what you can do is make a separate room-only reservation for the night of June 14 in the same room category you are staying in for the rest of your trip. Technically, you will have to check-in twice, but chances are they will not make you change rooms. You will have to pay rack rate for the night of June 14 however.

Or, if you are spending the day at DTD, why not consider a DTD resort? Or perhaps POFQ or POR which both have boat service to DTD? or even a value or staying offsite. Because you have a car, transportation is easy - it's just the packing and unpacking that could be a headache!

If you do end up adding a night at AKL, ask them to link your reservations so there is less chance you will have to change rooms.

Search priceline or Last minute travel and find a hotel near DTD. Super fun!
