My soon to be husband and myself decided to go to Disney World for our honeymoon. We will probably leave around june 21 and stay for 5 or 6 nights. Does any one have any advice for where to stay or what to do? By the way....we'll be on a budget. Thanks.:bride: :groom:

Oh my goodness....there is SO much to do, is too long to send a reply! Email me and I would be happy to help you out! I just took my honeymoon there last year and have been there 27 times and have MANY ways to work on a budget!

We stayed in the honeymoon suite at the WL for our anniversary. We could not have been happier with our choice in resorts. I wish I was a member of DIS prior to my honeymoon, I think I could have saved a bundle and still had the same experience.

There is also a wedding/honeymoon board on this site as well, but you've come to right place for help!!

Good luck planning.

Thanks for the advice. Thats my first choice as far as resorts go, but I don't know if I want to spend that much money, though it might be worth it.
I looked at the other board (weddings and honeymoons) but I figured there would be more people on this one that had already experienced their honeymoon there.

I just returned from my honeymoon at Disney World, and let me tell you--you picked the right place to go! It was wonderful!

My resort recommendations would be either the Animal Kingdom Lodge or the Wilderness Lodge. They are deluxe resorts, so you get to feel a little more pampered, but they are the least expensive deluxes, so you can save a little too. Be sure to check www.mousesavers.com frequently for code rates that might save you a bunch. Typically they aren't released this far in advance though.

As far as other fun things to do, we really enjoyed seeing Cirque du Soleil's La Nouba. The tickets are a little pricey though, so that might not fit the budget. It's also a lot of fun to rent a surrey bike and drive it around the BoardWalk, especially in the evening. I also find it to be relaxing to spend an afternoon shopping at Downtown Disney. Be sure to try one of the cookies from Goofy's Candy Company--they are outstanding! I would also plan a few splurge meals for special treats. We had dinner at Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge, and loved it. The cobbler is to die for! You can check out menus at www.allearsnet.com.

We honeymooned at BWI in 1997. We went on the Honeymoon Grand Plan which, while not exactly budget-conscious, was fantastic. No matter where you stay, definately mention loudly and often that you are on your Honeymoon and you will get lots of perks.
Also, BWI is centrally located and super-convenient.
