We are planning our next trip to DisneyWorld and want to add a couple of days to Universal Studios. We have never been to Universal and can't decide if we want to do Disney first or Universal first? Any suggestions??? :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

There's two ways to go about this.

- Do Universal first, so you end the trip with Disney and you go home with Disney being your last, most enduring memory.

- Do Disney first, and if you find you need extra days because you can't get all the Disney in that you wanted, you can just forget about Universal and continue on with Disney! ;)

I had the same dilemma but we've decided to do Disney first and Universal in the middle. We did both places last year. I'd rather have the first experience be a Disney one!

Thanks!!! This is my thought, but my brother-n-law and his family are traveling with us and we will all need to agree. I can however make it hard for everybody if they do not agree with ME!!!

My thoughts are to save the best for last!

We went to Universal 2 years ago. We did Chef Mickey's are 1st night for dinner to see our "friends". The next day we headed to Universal. The day after was MK. We are so glad that we did it that way because we have become way to spoiled from WDW. We thought Universal was okay but the wait times for rides was crazy. They don't have fastpass like at WDW for anybody. You have to stay on their grounds to have a special card. Every ride was over 50 minutes wait time. Our DS's were 7 & 5 at the time and I spent most of the time with them in the Nicktoons area. The best thing that whole day was eating at Jimmy Buffet's Marquetville (SP?). The food was very good. They have people walking around on stilts making balloon animals/items for the kids and cracking jokes.

Whatever order you choose, have a great time at both places.

I agree -- Universal first & Disney as the "Grand Finale".

On our last trip to Universal & Disney prior to moving to FL we did the parks in this order & we were only in Universal about 6 hrs. & having a good time, but both our teenage sons said, "OK, I'm ready to go to Disney now". Even though they enjoy Universal, after awhile they get bored there & the lines are very long more often than they're not. Now, we're passholders to both, but only visit Universal about 8-10 times per year, as compared to our visiting WDW weekly, on average.

Universal is fun, but it's not very big & you're limited on the amount of things you're able/want to do if you have a wide variety of ages along. So, I agree with ending with WDW, where everyone will most likely feel like
there's a ton of stuff they wished they could have had time to do & want to return to do it, rather than having done it all & deciding which one to do yet again.

I suggest you do USF either first, or last, but not in the middle. I would stay on USF property during your couple/few days there for FOTL priv. :thumbsup2

In Oct 2007 we are also going to the "Dark Side" for two days. Actually sounds like fun if you are into BIG COASTERS at IOA. Anyway ... gotta get the Disney Magic FIRST so we are planning 1st two full days at MK and Epcot, then 1 day IOA, 1 day Uni, and back to MK and AK for the last two days. So we are sticking it in the middle. They do have good deals for staying onsite at Universal but ... I JUST CAN'T DO THAT!!!

Hope you get your family to agree with whatever you plan to do.

Also since in 2007 we will do DDP (hopefully still going on) so I plan to perhaps SAVE the TS from our two US days and go to a 2TS credit restaurant on one of our WDW subsequent days. :sunny:
