This will be my first trip to WDW and I'm soooo excited! :cool1:

I will be arriving in Orlando at 6:15 a.m. and taking the ME to Yacht Club Resort. Since I won't be able to get into my room until afternoon, I need advice on what to do that first day. Should I pack my swimsuit in my carry-on and plan to sit by the pool? Do I explore the Boardwalk? Should I head on over to one of the parks? Are there any great places for breakfast at YCR or close by? Since I don't really have the lay of the land in my head, I'd appreciate any advice.

:flower: Countin' down for 17 more days! :flower:

Why not pack the bathing suit either way so you have the option to sit by the pool if you want. You will be arriving pretty early so checkin to YC and get that out of the way. You can explore the Boardwalk, grab a bite to eat, check out the other Epcot area resorts. Maybe after that, if your room is not ready, lay by the pool until it is. Just an idea.

I will probably be driving all night this trip and arriving around 9:00 a.m. I plan to check in and lay by the pool until my room is ready - maybe catch a nap since I'll be driving all night!!

My suggestion would be to register at the YC, leave your luggage with bell services, and head out to a park for the day. Since you're arriving early enough, why "waste" a day just hanging out waiting for your room to be ready? Go forth and enjoy!

I second this.

That's probably a great idea. After all, the reason I'm red-eyeing it from CA is so that I wouldn't waste a whole day traveling. I haven't purchased tickets yet... which is easier: buying them at YC or at the first park I go to?

Since you'll be stopping at the registration/guest services desk at the YC anyway, just get your passes there. An added benefit is that they can conveniently be encoded on your room key.

You could go check out Downtown Disney or you could go check out the other Disney resorts. It's really a lot of fun. Take a bus to the monorail and ride it around to the Contemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian (my favorite)!!! :sunny:

We will be arriving tomorrow morning around 7:00 a.m. We plan to pre-check, leave our luggage and head for the MK. This is the plan we usually have for all of our trips. We stay in the MK until lunch time - after lunch we call to see if our room is ready.....usually it is. If the room is ready we go back to the hotel, unpack, (sometimes take a dip in the pool and have a drink) shower, take a short nap and then head to EPCOT for the remainder of the day.

Im planning the day we switch from VWL to BCV we'll start with brkfst at Cape May 10am PS. Was thinking of sitting by Stormalong Bay until our room was ready. However I'll have our valuables on me and dont want them sitting on a chair when we're in the pool. So now Im thinking we'll head over to the countries. I have no other PSs for that day as we dont really know how the day will play out

Same as arrival day at VWL. If the room is ready we'll relax by the pool and explore at night. If the room isnt ready we'll go explore and then sit at the pool at night. I made a lunch PS at WL for when we arrive. The rest of the day we'll "play it by ear"

Spoodles on the Boardwalk is a great place for a quiet breakfast with really good food. My DS and I love their breakfast pizza/flat bread, but all their breakfast foods are very good. It is a short walk from the YC. It is a few doors away from the Boardwalk Inn.
Although your room probably won't be ready, the Yacht Club is very large so it is possible that you may get your room right away if it was vacant the previous day.
Have a great trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We usually arrive on an early flight and spend half the first day at DTD. We like to have an early lunch and do a little shopping before we check in. My kids usually need a short rest time so we don't go to the parks until the late afternoon after check-in.
