What to Do at Night without Fantasmic?

Now that we know there will be no Fantasmic all summer…how will you spend your evenings?

Do you think they will quickly round up a night parade? Reruns of last summer with MSEP? Bring back Paint the Night? How quickly could this be accomplished? Will there be huge crowds drawn to WOC instead?

Or will we be left to our own devices to entertain ourselves?

What are YOUR plans?

There's no way they could throw together Paint The Night that quickly. I could see them bring back MSEP maybe in July but I agree it's probably just fireworks for the time being as I don't know what the lead time would be needed to retrain the cast members to be able to do MSEP effectively and for such a short window.

I'd just take it easy and enjoy DLR at night.

Agreed. I think though I am not positive, I think MSEP floats and appartus are being stored in Orlando right now. As much as I would want MSEP. With Halloween Time starting on Monday September 1st, I do not think a very limited run of MSEP is practical logistically and financially for DL at the moment.

As much as I'll miss Fantasmic, I think not having those huge crowds around ROA at night is going to be so nice. I usually avoid the whole area in the evenings unless I'm seeing Fantasmic. It will be easier to get over to Pirates and Haunted Mansion :)

I'd love it if they brought the Electrical Parade back, but I don't know how long it takes to pull that together.

It would be cool to ride the boats at night if that's possible.

I haven't seen Magic Happens yet, so I'll try to see it in the evening.

I will happily enjoy the ROA area not being crowded with hoards of people during the summer.
I might even visit at night more frequently now that Fantasmic is on hiatus. TBD

I am SO HAPPY about this. I hate how you basically can't do anything on that side of the park after 8:30pm. Fantasmic is cool and all, but the crowds are just too much. I will enjoy being able to access the whole park after dark.
I feel the same way. I always avoided that area after sundown. Now I dont have to. Though I wanted to see F! on my August trip it was not a huge priority. I have seen F! many times before.

I didn’t realize the show (in some version or another) has been going almost 25 years! I’ll go out ona limb and say, yep, time for something ne. I love it but have seen every time I’ve been to park. It is so much better at DL than WDW but still, maybe it’s time for a whole new show.

F! premiered in 1992!!! There have been changes and updates.

Over 30 years! I remember sitting on the ground waiting to watch it for the first time. I think I was 15 or 16 years old.

I am trying to figure this out too. Right now our plan is to watch the parade at 6:30, ride a couple of ridea, and then watch fireworks. We had been hoping to watch the first show of Fantasmic and then stay there for fireworks, so I'm not sure now where our fireworks spot will be.
Does anyone know if they were still showing the projections on the Fantasmic water screens during the Fireworks these days?

They should. You can also see fireworks projections at It's a Small World.

In the meantime, Disneyland also announced that “alternative entertainment experiences are being explored for the summer.”

If Disney is stating that experiences are being explored for summer, I would expect some kind of entertainment to be added. We shall see how big or small the offerings might be.

Yes, but I agree who knows the size of the offerings. " Being explored " could mean thinking about. I would not be shocked if nothing is added.
