staying at grand Floridian on an upcoming trip, and it will be our first stay there! What are the must do check out things at the resort?

Both pools are nice. You can sit in the lobby and listen to the various musicians during the day and night. Check out the stores in the lobby. Walk around the lake over to the Polynesian.

We like the pool and hot tub. We also like sitting in the lobby listening to the musicians, especially the string quartets. DH always shops for clothes in the men's shop there. Even though we've stayed there several times, we like to walk around the property both inside and outside. We might also hav a drink in the lounge or just sit in one of the quiet seating areas either in the main building or whatever building we're staying in to just chill and chat. At night, go to the pier and watch the electric light parade sail past.

Swim, rent a boat, enjoy the beach, shop, listen to the music in the lobby. That's about it. There really isn't a whole lot going on there to entertain you...it's mostly a relaxing type atmosphere.

If your budget won't allow V&A, Narcoossees and Citricos are quality dinner options.

While the projections for the fireworks shows are too low to see from the resort, it is still nice to grab some QS from Gasparilla's and watch the higher fireworks over the castle. (Some people also watch from the boat dock near Narcoossees.)

I love the musicians in the lobby also. If you have kids, the water play area seems pretty great.

We loved having a proper drink (the Florida Manhattan was great), splitting the cheese plate, and listening to the orchestra at Mizner’s.

Shop at Basin White.

Walk over to Poly for a Lapu Lapu or stop in Trader Sam’s.

I love Basin White. They have a make your own candle section now and my kids made a candle for their great-grandmother. It was the nicest present and they had so much fun making it.

If you have kids there are always lawn games set up in the grassy area outside of the quiet pool. They do movies every night and I believe there is yoga in the mornings. (Someone can correct me on that if I am wrong.) I believe that there is a ping pong table in the quiet pool area as well.

I enjoy sitting on my balcony and watching the monorail or boats depending on my view. The shops are a great way to spend an hour or so and I always seem to find a cute dress or two to buy! Don't forget about the spa... I've never been to it but it is on my bucket list!
