What to do at EPCOT that is not WS?

We went to Disney last fall, and spent almost every night in Epcot. Funny thing is, we didn't do anything that wasn't in the WS. We were there during F&W, so I'm sure that was part of it--but, I don't feel like we missed much :confused3

Besides, MissionSPACE, Test track, and Soarin' (3 hr wait, I kid you not), what else is there? We will be doing all 3 of these rides this fall (esp b/c there is a milder MissionSPACE--I didn't want to puke). I'd love to explore EPCOT a lil' more...

thanks

New "Finding Nemo" ride MIGHT be open in the "Seas" pavilion by then, but "Turtle Talk with Crush" is open and that's a must-see for all ages.

Honey, I Shrunk the Audience (Imagination Pavilion) is good.

Really like Ellen's Energy Adventure... its a major (and funny) 45 minute tour de force.

Some folks like Innoventions, though I can't spend much time there.

I didn't notice you left out Space Ship Earth (but Disney Girlie-Wirlie caught it). Its certainly worth a ride.

Actually, for us, no trip to Epcot is complete without a round on SpaceShip Earth- we really enjoy being IN what we always thougt WAS Epcot. Plus, it's one of our favorite attractions at Epcot

First thing we do and the last thing we do on every visit to EPCOT is ride Space Ship Earth.

You paint such a beautiful "word picture."

:rotfl2:

Of course, outside of Test Track, Mission Space, Spaceship Earth and Soarin (all of which are must-do's), I like Living with the Land (boatride inside The Land). It's not a thrill ride by any means, and it's more for adults, but it's very interesting and informative. Give it a try.

We played in Innoventions a little this time- They have a plastic's presentation that at the end you make a "robot" to take home- it was cute if you have kids especially because hello free thing to take home......Try to catch the Jamitors_ or is it Jaminators? Whatever it is it is a drum show that is pretty entertaining. And the fountains have a show to music every something....(don't know if it is hours or minutes..)One thing on Turtle Talk when we went we ended up skipping it- the line was soooo long no matter when we went. We actually went straight there one morning at opening and they was already a 40 minute wait. We have seen it- it is cute but for us not worth a 40 minute wait.(especially with the baby..)I think everything else has been covered. Oh and you can walk around the fine art display near the camera shop. oooooooh and you can look for my children in the display up front- they are in section D the cute kids... :lmao:

To help with those 3 hour waits:

There is what I believe to be a little known secret that I will share with you but....ssshhhhh......keep it between us:

FW posts their closing hours 2 hours prior to the WS but, in actuality, there are a few attractions that remain open in the front until the park closes.

TT, SE, Soarin, M:S I know are open and most of the crowd has moved to the WS believing that the front is closing and/or to line up for a good spot for Illuminations.

The last 2 hours are a great time to go thru FW! :thumbsup2

Great tip, I've taken advantage of this too.

One of my favorite things to do is to watch the big fountain in the middle of future world. Every quarter hour it "dances" to whatever song is playing. It is amazing what water can do! My family also likes Living with the Land, and the imagination area after you get off of the Figment ride. We always send a funny picture emails to family members.

Don't forget to grab a FP for at least Soarin'. Do this first thing or they'll all be gone later in the day. Then you can get a FP for TT later. I doubt you'll need one for M:S. Also, don't forget to check out Club Cool and try all the Coke products from around the world. Even if youve done this before, it's a must for us every trip.
Ya gotta do Spaceship Earth!
There is much to do in FW...just take your time and explore.

Thank you for all the replies!! I forgot about Spaceship Earth, otherwise known as "the big ball" in this house. We went on that 2-3x each visit to Epcot. The 4 yr old LOVED it.

We've always just gone to Epcot at night, so one day next trip, we'll go during the day and mix it up w/MK at night :lmao: That way, we'll get FP for Soarin', see Living w/the Land, the ellen thing, M:S, FP for TT, Figment ride (is this worth it??) and check out Innovations. We spent a week there last time w/my ILs who weren't as gung ho as us---we'll be there 10 days this time :cheer2: And now that we are more familiar w/the attractions and layout, we will be able to do different things, and old favorites.

Please don't wait 3 hours for Soarin'...I will cry. Get a Fastpass in the morning... I can do all three of the big rides within an hour.

Don't miss the little things. The Circle of Life video is beautiful. Living With The Land is very interesting. Spaceship Earth is an icon!

Honey, I Shrunk the Audience, Ellen's Energy Adventure (but Ellen is also my hero so it could be really dull for people who don't see her as a genus for all I know. As far as what I hear though, other people like it-worst comes to worst, 45 minutes of air conditioning :)), Spaceship Earth, and my favorite character EVER!!! FIGMENT! (coming to the nearest Journey Into Imagination With Figment near you) EPCOT is my least favorite of the 4 parks but there is still a ton of great stuff there [without steppping foot into World Showcase (I never do and have a blast despite!)]
