What to do after Hoop De Doo July 4th?

Hi all...we have reservations for Hoop de Doo at 5pm on July 4th...any suggestions as what we should do afterwards, before the fireworks? I guess we'll have 2 or 3 hours to kill before the fireworks. Any recommendations as to which fireworks are closest to where Hoop de Doo is?
Also, how do you get there from Animal Kingdom? Do you have to go to MK first to take the boat?

You'll be done by around 7pm... I don't know what time the fireworks are but I hope this helps:

Thoughts on what you could do to spend 2-3 hours
:
- take the boat to WL and explore the Lodge. See the geyser go off, look for the Hidden Mickeys in the foyer area (clue sheet available at the front desk), etc.

- take the boat to Contemporary, look around there and hop on the monorail. Go visit Poly and Grand Floridian and enjoy the ride inbetween

- if you want to leave from Ft Wilderness and go directly to AK, you can jump on a bus when you get out - when we last did HDDR, they had a slew of buses waiting there to take us to our destination. I would *assume* there would be park buses there too, if not, ask a CM standing there for directions to the AK buses. Ft Wilderness will have some running somewhere. If you want to explore other resorts first, all of those you will be connected to will have a bus going to AK you can catch when ready to jump to a park

- The closest fireworks to Ft Wilderness (Where HDDR is) are going to be MK. You can see them from the beach at Ft Wilderness, even, but if you have the time, I'd go back to MK to view them, it's a better view. If you are going to MK for the fireworks, I would head straight back to MK and do things there and stake a spot for the fireworks - just take the boat back to MK from Ft Wilderness. It's a lovely ride!
