We're going the end of July:woohoo:
Okay, so I see the Electric Light Parade is in CA at 8:45, and CA closes at 9. Does everyone then rush back to DL after? I envision a mob. Is there a best place to stand to see the parade and get to DL after, or do people hang out in CA? What is best to do after seeing the parade? DL is open till midnight.

what have been your summer experiences?

Thanks!

yes lots of folks got to DL, and you get there just in time to walk into the crowds that are set up to watch the fireworks.

one suggestion is jump on the train and go to NO square, or walk into DTD and get on the monorail and ride into tomorrow land.

The last time we were there we sat near the exit to watch the parade thinking we could get out of there and catch the fireworks. No chance. I think you are pretty close to the end of the parade and by the time the parade was over the fireworks were starting. We ended up just sitting right near the golden gate bridge and watching them and then heading into downtown disney for a bit of shopping. I don't think I would try to make my way down mainstreet. I agree, either take the monorail or the train. You could probably catch the late show of fantasmic if you wanted or just catch some rides! We have little kids and I miss those late night rides that we used to get to do!!!

You can try and grab a seat near the entrance and try and get in the Soarin line before it closes. Yes, we go over to DL for a while after the Electrical parade. I agree, hop on the train and go to NOS. Pirates and HM almost never have lines that late in the day. Maybe see the 10:30 Fantasmic! You will not want to walk up Main Street with the fireworks crowds.

hmm, it is possible to watch the ELP and the fireworks...

but you need to position yourself by golden Dreams and RUUUUUN to the front of the park after you see the Elliot.

Yes there is a mad rush into DL after the EP parade:crowded: but we got back in pretty quickly and walked down the right side of main street and walked right onto Star Tours and then headed over to BTM around the back of the castle and rode it twice in a row with the fireworks going.

i don't beileve the train or the monorail are running prior to the fireworks, maybe someone can comfirm that.
