Here's the deal: I'm 6'2" tall. Started the HMR program with medical supervision on Feb. 25, weighing in at 223.8 lbs. Weighed in yesterday at 187.5. :cool1:

Feeling good ... looking good ... now what about these stretch marks on my tummy?!?! Can anything be done or are they there forever? I have a feeling I am stuck with them, but I figured I would ask.

For those of you just starting with weight lose --- you can do it! Keep your eyes on the prize and find a positive distraction.

Peace!

I wish I knew...I had a baby 6 months ago & didn't have a single stretch mark until my last couple weeks of my pregnancy & then I got a bunch right in the front of my stomach. I hate them & I wish I knew how to get rid of them so that I can wear a bathing suit again & not be so self conscious. Maybe someone out there has a suggestion...

Awesome job on the weight loss!! That's is so great!!!:cheer2:

Sorry, but stretch marks are there for good. They will fade over time and become less red and obvious, but they will alsways be there. Get a good lotion or one made for stretch marks and see if it helps. Best thing is to avoid getting them, but some are more prone to them than others.

I recommend not tanning the area where they are as frankly that can damage the skin more. I think I've heard there might be a new derm laser available to treat them, but I didn't pay attention as I figured it would be out of my price range. :surfweb:

A lot of people have had some decent results with Bio Oil. It works for scars and stretch marks. A little goes a long way...

This sounds good to try. I do know that stretch marks are scars where tissue was damaged by stretching too quickly. Mine are from two pregnancies and an abdominal surgery where they blew me up like a balloon. Unfortunately I scar unattratively but minimizing the look of them now that I'm finally losing some weight would be nice. There are lasers and tummy tucks that can help but I'm not (and likely never will be) ready for measures that intense. I read an article once that you should embrace your stretch marks as trophies of your childbearing

Someone told me that...I seriously did roll my eyes. That was not what I wanted to hear. I love my son more than anything but I HATE the stretch marks that he gave me. Trophy of my pregnancy & having my child...I'm not too excited about that...:rolleyes1

Keeping the skin moisturized will help, but it won't get rid of them... You can use Cocca Butter or Shae butter Nut butters are great for keeping the skin moist.
