I hope there isn't already something about this- I couldn't find anything on it.

How did/do you plan on dealing with the Florida heat while wearing your gown? I only live an hour from WDW, so I'm no stranger to the heat that goes on year-round here, but it's a lot different to be in the park in jeans and a tank top vs. a wedding gown. Our wedding is the one day I'll ever wear a wedding gown, so I don't want to change out of it just to keep cool! What did you guys do, or what do you plan on doing to avoid getting too hot?

I hadn't given this any thought to be truthful while planning my upcoming wedding. I already purchased my dress and its 100% silk. I think if you go for a natural fibre it will naturally be cooler. The only negative with silk is if I trash the dress it will be trash lol. I was thinking to have a knock off of my dress made in a synthetic just for trash the dress photos, but I haven't gotten that far yet. I'm currently in save the date mode.

i live in minnesota and i'm a wimp with heat.
first thing we decided is that we go in the fall... that way our bodies are still used to the summer heat and fall in florida is like july up here.
second thing... hoop skirt. no floof gathering heat and wrapping around my sweaty legs.

If at all possible schedule your wedding for a cooler month. I went with the end of March before it got too hot. If you have to do summer, schedule your wedding for early morning or later at night to avoid peak heat. Opt for an indoor location and keep outside time to a minimum. Bring a misting fan to use when you have to be outside and have makeup touchups available for after your outside pics. Go with a more breathable dress, usually your dress salesperson will ask where you venue is and if you say FL in the summer he/she should be able to help you choose a dress that isn't too hot with a more breathable fabric.

Our wedding is set for March 3, so it can either be hot or cold. I'm just trying to be prepared either way. The cold is just so much easier to prepare for! This past winter, we had a few days of cold with a LOT of heat, so if next winter is the same, there aren't really any "safe" months. :worried:

It kinda depends? Inside or outside venue for the cermony? Where is the reception, inside or outside?

I would recommend a loose skirt. Staying hydrated before. Good luck. You could also carry a fan.
