I have a family member that is wanting me to come and clean their house. I think it is great so I can use the money for Disney. The problem is neither one of us know what would be a good estimate on what to charge. It is about a 2500 square ft house. A story and a half on a full basement. I wouldn't be cleaning the whole basement but the half that is finished, also they just finished part of the basement and their is drywall dust all over the rest of the house that I am to clean. What kind of quotes should I give her that would be resonable because she is family as well. Thank you to all that can help.

We have a man who comes twice a month and charges us 80.00 bucks for 3.5 hours.. does a great job.

I have a 2500 sq ft house with 3 bathrooms , 3 bedrooms and 2 living rooms. It is a 2 story so there are stairs to vaccume . I pay $185.00 for 2 times a week and $100.00 if it is one time a week . That is for every week not the month . But she does baseboards :teeth:

Good luck

This is what I pay too. We have a team of 3 ladies who come in (I guess that equates to 3 hours).

They will straighten/clean my daycare room -- but I don't expect them to clean the toy shelves -- that's a big job.

I will leave them a note regarding any extras I'd like to have done. Today I asked them to wipe down my DS9's chrome bed with glass cleaner and they did. Occassionally, I will give them a tip depending on what I've asked "extra".

The first clean done by them (to bring my house up to their standards -- that's their phrase, not mine) was done on an hourly type basis. $85 for the first hour and $12 for each quarter of an hour after that. Drywall dust is hard to pick up, so I really think you should charge more just for this.

JMHO, but I don't see where because this is family, your time should be worth any less.

Yes, but her stairs are hardwood. Thank you guys so much for your help so far.

Here its hourly- $15-20 per hour.

DMIL pays $25.00 per hour...BUT her house is as follows

1st floor- mud room, kitchen, keeping room, formal dinning room, master bed/bath and 12x12 closet...keeping room has carpet, the rest real hard wood

2nd floor has office, gun room (not cleaned) 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms- bedrooms have area rugs...all real hardwood

basement is 2 large rooms- both carpetted

General cleaning for this house done every week is the floors, bathrooms, and dusting...baseboards and corners done every week- cobwebs etc... she also cleans door casings, as she see's them dirty.

DMIL also has 4 curio cabinets with her hummels in them..these are opened and cleaned 1x per month...the chandelier in the formal dinning room is cleaned 1x every other month, and just before holidays..

Spring and fall cleaning is also done by this lady- windows, vents etc..

SMIL pays about $150.00 per week for her house to be cleaned, but it's really clean anyway..she sweeps etc... but the time it takes this lady to clean is a full day...she has been DMIL's house cleaner for 18 years, since they moved up here...

I also pay between $12-$15 per hour per woman. I provide all the supplies, they supply the labor. That is a general price around here. Good luck.

I clean houses on a part time basis with a friend that has her own business. We charge $25/hr. This is for a really thorough cleaning. An average size house(1.5bathrooms, 3 bedrooms) takes about 4-5hrs for a 1st time cleaning. After the initial cleaning I would say 2.5-3hrs for a weekly cleaning.

My sister has the same sized house and lives in the country outside of Cincy. She pays $60/week, without the drywall dust. My sister in law has a two story four bedroom house with full basement in Indy and pays $85 per week. Hope this helps, as Kentucky might be close to one or the other.

I have a 3 bed/2.5 bath townhome and my woman charges $65 a visit. This includes cleaning the bathrooms, changing the sheets, some dusting, swifer the pergo floors, clean the kitchen. She also will vaccuum the carpets. She doesn't do windows.

I supply all cleaning materials, paper towels, rags, mop, etc. Most cleaning people DO NOT use their own materials. I asked her for a list of what she wanted and I buy new supplies every few weeks.
