What to buy?

Long story short,,, We will be traveling every three to six months. Basically, anywhere in the USA (our choice of locations) for three or six month assignments.

What would be the best way to go? MH with toad, Fifth wheel with gas guzzler truck. I want to stay away from a TT (harder to tow and more breakdowns), or so I've heard.

Our budget is about 100K, of course less is always better! When we get to our assignment, we need reliable transportation.

What are you doing to be able to do that?! Sounds fantastic!

Personally, I'd do the MH. When one person is driving, the other can nap. Plus you can easily get to stuff whenever you want to.

with a 100k budget I think you would get more for your money from a 5er and a DIESEL guzzling truck. TT have no more break downs than a 5er, but 5ers are easier handling and easier to set up and break down. if you will be hauling alot of stuff a 5er toyhauler is the way to go.

DH is finishing up nursing school. We want to do the 'traveling nursing' program. 13 week assignments throughout the country. Good pay, housing reimbursement, travel expenses paid. Our plan is to 'follow the sun'.

Summer in the north and winter in the south.

If most of your time would be spent travelling, I would go with the MH and a toad. It's great to have access to everything while you're on the road. However, it sounds like you'll travel to a place and then stay in that place for awhile. For that I'd probably want a fifth wheel, because for the money I think you'll get better interior space. If you're going to do a lot of commuting while you're staying put, though, you might want the small gas efficient toad to drive as opposed to a truck (anything big enough to pull a fifth wheel big enough to live in for any length of time is going to be a fuel guzzler). So I guess what I'm saying is . . . I have no idea what would be best, but I would opt for the fifth wheel anyway. FWIW, we've pulled both a fifth wheel and a TT with a Hensley hitch. The TT with a premium hitch pulled just as well, so I would't necessarily rule them out for that reason.
