I need to buy a gift for DH's aunt and uncle and I have been searching and searching and still do not know what to buy them. They are in their 50's, professionals, no child and they want for nothing. In years past we have given them gift certificates to their favorite restaurants, movie passes, holiday floral arrangements etc., but this year I just can't think of anything different to get them. Any thoughts?

favorite either non alcoholic drink or wine......a box of crackers and some items from Hickery farms....they make some nice snack baskets up........they could use this for an open house or the New years celebration.....I have done this before for the hard to find gift for someone with EVERYTHING......good luck

You could ask them in advance if they are into this, but sometimes people with everything don't really want anything more for themselves. Maybe they would like it if you made a contribution to their favorite charity instead (not YOUR favorite, though -- THEIR favorite -- we had someone make a contribution to a "charity" (really a political action committee) we loathed once -- not our favorite gift!).

We tried to suggest to our relatives that they do this for us (OXFAM and several local charities) instead of getting us more presents, but no one wanted to. And we would LOVE to do this instead of getting more useless gifts for our relatives, but they hate the idea and want to see presents for themselves under the tree. We are all people who have more than enough, by the way. It's kind of sad, really.

We have someone like this in our family. I bake them homemade nut rolls, pastries and cookies. They Luv them, she doesn't bake at all so they are appreciated.

Also, a new vendor at the mall this year is selling nuts, pecans, walnuts, and they are coated with some kind of sugar/cinamonn.
They come in cute tins and they are SUPER DELICIOUS! My mom purchased some of these for the hard to buy people.

I don't know if this will work for you, but...

What we have done w/some friends is agreed that instead of doing that mindless mall search for useless gifts, we spend that time & money on a dinner out together enjoying each other's company. It has worked out well for us - we all seem to enjoy that time to relax & fun during the hectic Holiday season.

Good Luck & Happy Holidays! :)
