We are leaving this friday for our cruise. I was wondering if there is shampoo, soap and hair dryers in the room?

Yes to all of the above......Andy

However, the hair dryer isn't the greatest in the world, so you may want to consider bringing your own. :hyper:

The shampoo and soaps are small. We brought our own. Also, I agree about the hairdryers-very weak. We brought our own hairdryer and here's the most important part.....Bring an extension cord for the hairdryer. Mine has the big box plug to it and it won't fit in the outlet by the mirror in the room and you can't use it in the bathroom because the outlets are for 'shavers only'. I found the suggestion for the extension cord on the 'best tip' thread. I think it was one of the best pieces of advice, next to the over the door shoe organizer.
We just got back last Thursday. Enjoy your trip!
Laura

Even though the soap and shampoo are small, they replenish them for you on a daily basis and if what you have in the cabin is not enough, you can almost always find a host/hostess outside one of the other rooms and can ask for additional items.......Andy

Shampoo is fine but you may want to bring your own conditioner. The sea air can be awful on the hair

I can tell you that the shampoo they provide you does have conditoner in it. It was fine for my hair which is color treated.. but if you are particular I would suggest bringing your own products.

I agree with IGTD: I'd bring your fav conditioner. Thank goodness my favorites came in travel size. But it's so easy to buy the travel containers for just about anything !

Ann - have you ever had a problem with the sea air on your hair?

Maybe it's just us red headed veteran cruisers but.....

Hey, I know what I'd like to bring on my next cruise......but I promise not to mention the ivory tickling, robust entertainer.....
ohhh, what the heck!

BRING FIDELIO BACK TO THE MAGIC!
Rae

I was simply stating a fact that I have been on the ship many times and found their shampoo-THAT HAS conditioner more than acceptable for my needs, by pointing out that the other person has not EVER been on the ship and has never EVEN TRIED their hair products is not catty just a fact. To each their own, many people want their own stuff and that is great but it is silly to give advice about something you know nothing about.

Please excuse me if I offended you, it was not my intention.

(I'm editing this because my reply did not appear)

I don't get the "MEOW" part of this - all you did was state the facts and the fact is that you have to "walk the walk to talk the talk".

Also to bring with you, a small flashlight to walk to the bathroom without stubbing your toes or have a nightlight in there already.

And you own alarm clock since a wake up call can be a very loud way to get up (character or no character, loud is loud) and I am not cheerful before coffee.

Well then 28 posts and we have our selves a veteran DIS'er . I like to post just to keep it off topic and reveal information about myself so I was wondering should I take 8 bottles of travel shampoo and 2 conditioners or 2 bottles of shampoo and 8 conditioners? Also, when I am gone should I have my neighbor feed my cat in the morning and night or just mornings or maybe 2 times a day spreading it around? I was thinking that maybe I should condition my cats hair too, or maybe my DH or sons or if we don't go on vacation I can ask a few 1000 more questions. Oh well off to buy another travel size conditioner for our cruise Rae.

Anyhoo

Would you please put a "WARNING" label on your posts when you put something like that out? I could have lost it right here and now!!

I am going to bring my DEPENDS with me on this cruise just in case we have an "off topic" discussion.

AND Jeanny - I must tell you that I resemble that remark!!!!

What else to bring -
Lots of film, a photo album to put your pictures in if you get them developed at Shutters, sunglasses, large hat -

I always bring a good book so I can have some down time in the loungers and read!!

Rae

I love Rae's idea of bringing a good book. One of the best times I had on my cruise last December was two hours on one of those comfortable blue lounge chairs on Deck 4, reading what DH calls a "chick book" (I think it was one of Danielle Steele's) while we were in port in Nassau. I even got a "one-on-one" visit with Mickey Mouse as he went past!

Beth

Although I love to visit with my fellow cruisers, the time I spend in my lounger, I go "incognito" so I can just absorb the atmosphere while reading.

I am taking Clive Cussler, James Patterson and Jonathan Kellerman with me on this cruise!! I hope three will be enough, but hey, there's always room for one more!!

Rae

I would never cruise without having at least one good book - usually 2 or 3. That's one of the reasons I love the Navigators Veranda. I stretch out on the padded bench with a good book for an give or take an hour each morning and on sea days for even more time. We've used the blue lounge chairs on deck 4 too, but that was when we were in a category 9 and didn't have our own balcony.
