I could write a book on trailer tire horror stories. My previous employer had an enclosed trailer that was always loaded to almost max gvwr. The chinese trailer tires (of every possible brand) were always just a few hundred pounds below their max rating. Even with proper inflation and speeds at or under 65mph we would pop tires like crazy. It got to the point that we carried 3 spares. I finally got tired of it and exercised my company credit card on a set of LT Goodyear all steel radials to the tune of $1,200. Even though the weight rating was almost the same the blowouts ceased.
With that said I have had good service from the Maxxis on my 5'er. But if it were heavier I would be running some Michelin XPS Ribs. My tire guy was also very impressed with the Maxxis. He said that they balanced out much easier than the Chinese crap that they normally sell.
