I had this question myself and it was just answered in Deb's newsletter:

QUOTE:--------
"The time of day you attend a character breakfast
makes all the difference -- seatings later in the morning
usually do allow for a less rushed experience! That's why we
always suggest making a later priority seating if at all
possible."

Thought I'd post it for others who may also have this question.:)

Hmmm.... we always book the earliest possible and have never, ever been rushed for any of them. I will definitely continue to book early.

I have read (and going to do it) is the character breakfasts in the parks are best if done the earliest, getting to walk into the parks before the crowds and then already being in there when you are done with your meal. Of course it means getting up at the crack of dawn, boy do I remember that!

I think there are a number of schools of thought.

We are also early bookers. We usually get the first seating and are in the parks at opening. We've never felt rushed. This allows us to make the best use of park time - and we are early risers anyway.

Others like to do the last possible seating on an EE day. They get a couple of hours in the park, have "brunch" and then head out for their swim/naps/alternate park.

Some people don't care. They want to sleep in and want breakfast at a reasonable time. They aren't planning on going to the park before and as to going after, they really don't care if they get there early or not.

We did the Chef Mickey's breakfast one day and had an 11:15am time, I always made my seatings for as early as possible. This time was all I could get for the week I was there so I took it. It was wonderful. There was practically no one in the restaurant and the characters were only there until 12 noon, they practically sat with our children the rest of the morning. It was the best time I had. The food was great, not too many people there picking at it, and it was HOT. We just planned on doing a pool day since we had such a late seating.

Although, I think if I was doing a breakfast inside one of the parks I would take advantage of making an early seating.

Whatever you choose it will be just as magical.:D

both of the character meals that we did were for early morning...we did chef mickey's for around 8am and then we did a walk in for donald's breakfastasaurus over at the AK...we just joined the line of PS holders and they were able to seat us with no problems...

i think that next time, should we decide to do a character meal, we may just wait and do one inside a park when we feel like it...
