What time to leave to get to CRT on time.

We are staying at AKL and we have a 8:40am reservation for CRT this Saturday. I'm wondering what time we need to leave AKL to get there on time.

I should mention that we have a person with us that walks on the slow side becuase of knee issues.

give yourself at least an hour. It may not take that long but you can always look around the park before hand.

WDW has early character breakfasts busses that go to the resorts, so you will be able to get a bus. I would suggest at least an hour in advance. After all, AKL is the farthest resort away from MK, and you can't be exactly sure what time you'll get the bus. Then, there is that walking issue you mentioned. Maybe you should aim for being down at the bus area at AKL at 7:30 am. The resort CM can give advice, but it was a bus driver who told us there would be early character breakfast busses - not the resort CM. Also, the busses just said "Character Breakfast" on them ... they didn't mention the park. We had to tell the driver which breakfast we were going to. Good luck and have a magical time!
