What time to leave hotel?

Staying at the Tropicana Inn in a few weeks for our first ever DL trip. We will be flying home on a Sunday morning, out of LAX, and plan on using uber to get back to the airport. What time should we leave the hotel in order to get to LAX and through security with plenty of time for a 9:05 am flight? Is 6 am enough time? Am I correct in thinking that traffic should be light (or at least, light for LA) early on a Sunday morning?

Driving away via Uber at 6am Sunday should have you standing at the ticket counter line at 7am.

I always have to ask, are you checking bags? Will you have boarding passes? 6AM should be fine no matter what. If you are not checking bags and you will have boarding passes, then if it was me, I would do 6:30AM on a Sunday.

Traffic shouldn't be too bad at that time especially on a Sunday. If you are flying domestically, we normally tell our guest to be at LAX 2 hours prior to departure and 3 hours prior if international. With TSA on shutdown, time to get through security is a little iffy. When I went to Chicago a couple weeks ago, there were barely any lines, but I have a friend that is a flight attendant and they say they have seen really long lines. Maybe it also depends on the time of your flight. My flight was at 6 am.
