Yikes, we got our docs today for the June 29th Magic - everything seems so much more real! We were going to book a towncar to come get us and bring us to the port on the morning of the 29th. What time should we have them arrive so that we beat the crowd (or at least the DCL bus crowd) and can get the reservations we want?

Are you doing a grocery stop along the way? If so, have the car pick you up around 9:00. If not, then a 9:30 pick up will get you to the port by 10:30 or so, VERY early and you will beat the crowds.

Have fun!!! :)

I have a car picking us up at 10:30 on the day we sail from AKL. I don't need to stop for groceries and I didn't find it entertaining at all to stand in line last year with a bunch of children who were eager to get on the boat! Just to busy for me. If the line has started moving by the time I get there I will be thrilled! By the way, not an insult to the children if I was that young and that eager I would have been just as impatient to board....and on my cruise last year 7/7 never ran into any children that were out of hand! Thanks to their wonderful parents I have been able to convince my mother that the cruise we are taking (even with the numbers of families aboard) is going to be awesome!:)

Hmm.. so should I do 9:30 or 10:30? Anyone else have any suggestions?

I am using Tiffany Town Car and the time they are picking me up is based on what time I told them I wouldn't to be at the ship.

We typically take Happy Limo from an MCO-area hotel, and I like to arrive at the port between 10:30 and 11 for our Wonder cruises...it's pretty much a ghost town then, and you should beat the buses.
Of course, we discovered that the Magic is a different story! For the Wonder, many of the guests are doing land/sea and check in at their resort, but for the Magic everyone checks in at the port. We had breakfast with Shirley from Perfect Gift before our 5/25 cruise and got to the port pretty early, but it was already packed. I would definitely get there at 10:30 for the 7-day.

So Barb, what time should we be picked up to be in port at 10:30? And how long will we have to wait around at the terminal before we board? Is there anything to do there?

If you get there at 10:30 you can't board until at least 12:30....you can stand in line, watch cartoons that they have on for the kids, stand in line again (some more)...but you can be in line in time (early)0 for the extra reservations you may need.:Pinkbounc

The drive should only take 45 mins. to an hour, so 9:30 would be plenty early. Boarding usually starts early...lately it's been around 12:15. There are cartoons and a large model of the ship, as well as character appearances in the terminal, and there is a coffee shop where you can buy refreshments. There is also an area where you can walk outside and look at the ship.
