I was wondering if anybody could suggest what time would be good to get down to the dock- I have a 805 CRT breakfast and was planning on taking the boat to the Contemporary and walking to Magic Kingdom. Park also opens to guests at eight that day.
Thanks!

I'd be there at 7:15 and take the direct boat to MK. If you want to be there earlier the boat to the CR starts at 6:45. This would put you about 15 minutes ahead of the direct boat.

The boat to MK starts running 1/2 hr before opening time. So, if the MK opens at 8, you could conceivably be on the first direct boat and be ok. But it would be tight.

My experience with the direct boat is that you will not get there in time. We badly missed an 8:05 Crystal Palace reservation last trip with the first direct boat of the morning. You will get to the gate for the opening at 8 but have to wait to go through bag check (if you have a bag) and the crowd trying to rope drop the gate. You will be at the back of the crowd and not make it to CRT by 8:05. I am going to try the early boat to Contemporary next trip.

Buses start 1 1/2 hours before opening so you might be better off bussing it to MK (you will have two other stops that take about 15 minutes so figure that in as well).

Remember that the earlier you get there the more time to take those low crowd shots up mainstreet.

FYI...Unless things have changed, there is NO early bus that goes to the Magic Kingdom from the Fort. We had 9:00 am. ressies for a tour two years ago so I checked with the office the night before and the sweet girl on the phone happily told me "yes" there is an early bus. WRONG! We got up the next morning got down to the depot where we were informed by an empty bus waiting for campers to go to Epcot that there were no morning buses departing from the Fort for the MK but there WAS one that leaves from Wilderness Lodge (which is next door to the Fort). This gem of a bus driver then told us to get on the bus and she actually drove us back into the Fort where there was a bus waiting at the Settlement that was due to head over to the Wilderness Lodge (through the back roads). She explained our predicament to the driver on the other bus, who then told us to get on his bus and we got our ride over to the Lodge, jumped on their Magic Kingdom bus and got there just in time. Thank God for those drivers. They both went out of their way for us! By the way I did call the office that evening and told them they were giving out the wrong info about early morning buses to the MK but to be honest, the CM didn't seem to care. I will say that the tour we took "Keys to the Kingdom" was worth every bit of money and aggravation it took to get there. It was great!.

I did this tour last time (November 2014) we were there. I loved it. My DD17 liked it but near as much as I did. She got tired as there was a LOT of walking involved. I was little disappointed with the Utilidor though. I guess I expected much more. Still worth it for me though. I'd do it again too.
