What time to Eat BEFORE MNSSHP?

We want to be in MK from 2pm as we have a hopper ticket and will have a hard ticket for the MNSSHP. We want to eat in Crystal palace. What time should we plan to eat? Is it a good thing to be hearded into the hold area? Ie can we still ride rides etc, or should we plan to eat then?
What time is does this normally happen? Thanks... just we want to maximise the first few hours of the party as with DD 4, not sure we will stay till the end.

I would make my ADR for 5:45 or 6:00. That way you are eating while everyone else is herded into Tomorrowland while the park is prepared for the party.

Ditto. The only problem is I don't know how late CP will be taking reservations since the park closes at 6:00 to regular guests. When the tickets go on sale, they might open up later times. I call next week so I guess I'll find out!

We make our adr at CP for 5pm.

I would suggest EARLY. We like to eat at like 4-4:30 so we have plenty of time during the party to do anything we want. Then if you get hungry later, we get a snack - usually Casey's Corner.

I always eat for the hour the park is closed. I don't like the idea of being 'herded'.

I usually make my ADR around 5:30p.

One year we were done at 6:30p and went to the herded land and it was a zoo so I swore never again.

CP, the Castle, and the Plaza will take ADRs until 6:00p and Tony's and LTT will take ADRs throughout the party itself.

For those of who don't know this....you dont' HAVE to be herded. You can wander around for that hour and see the setup, take pictures with no one in them, etc. You can't ride rides....although if you catch the right CM, often they will let you ride early, trick-or-treat early, etc. We got a lot done before the official opening last year in Frontierland just because we wandered around to be there when it opened. They were letting people on BTMR already, so we went!

Well, you were luckier then we've been at parties because anywhere we tried to go after dinner (at LTT or CP) that wasn't the designated land to wait in, we was told that we could only go to the designated land. Last year the land was Frontierland and Adventureland...years before it was always Tomorrowland. Only luck we ever had was last year when we exited the Castle dinner around 6:45p, they did let my girls ride the carousel.

I've been to 7 parties so far and that was my experience.

We have ADR's at Whispering Canyon for 5:00. We are staying at Wilderness Lodge so I figured when we are done eating we can hop on a boat to the MK.

Last year we ate at LTT at about 5:15, by the time we were done the Party was in full swing. I haven't been able to make an ADR yet, hopefully as soon as the tickets go on sale.

:guilty: Sorry...we've been 4 times(and to the Christmas one once) and have always wandered around taking pictures and such. We were allowed to start trick-or-treating and riding a bit early at last year's. It's up to the CM, just like most things. Some are ready to have fun, and others don't want to be there or break the rules. It doesn't hurt to try!

Yes, I know it does depend on the CMs but I just wanted folks to know that for the most part many are asked to stay in one area and not allow in others, of course, it's depending on the CMs.

In the past, I tried a couple of times after leaving LTT to head toward Fantasyland with no luck. She told me I had to go to Tomorrowland till 7:00p.

My post was just another perspective.

We are planning on going to AK that day and then coming to the party. Will they let us in early with a hard ticket to the party and early dinner reservation (while the park is closed to set up)?

Thanks this will be our first mnsshp.

For the past few years, they have unofficially let party goers in after 4:00p with just their party ticket. I expect they will do it again this year.

You should be able to get in after 4:00p for an ADR.

Last year at the September 30 MNSSHP, we had a 5:30 time for LTT. We ended up finishing around 7:15. Please remeber to build in some time to wait to be seated in considering what time you will likely finish. If your goal is to finish at or slightly before 7:00, then I would suggest a 5:15 seating. If you get seated more quickly than expected at CP, you can always stay longer and have an extra round of dessert!

Have they opened up the later times to eat at LTT for the days of the Halloween Party? I am looking to get into LTT on 9/29 but last I checked they only seated up until 4:55 PM with the later hours not opened up yet. Called on my way in to work today... As a back up, we have Crystal Palace at 5:45 PM.

What day are you going? We are also going to AK and then to the party, we are going on the 24th.

Same here. We've never been herded anywhere and we've been 5 times to MNSSHP and one to MVMCP. I have heard of the herding but never witnessed it.
