what time to book rose and crown?

if we want to try to watch illuminations from there ... what time should i book dinner?

Best guess would be 30 minutes to 1 hour before Illuminations is to begin that evening.

I would try closer to an hour ahead. In my experiences, Rose & Crown tends to be running behind schedule by the later parts of the evening. Also, they do not guarentee nor take requests for patio seating. So you may end up at a table inside, but they will let you go outside to watch Illuminations.
