We are trying to coordinate everything for our cruise. What has your experience been -- what time have they really allowed people to start boarding the ship?? Also, what time will they open to allow people to begin checking in at the port and queing up? Is there a crowd when they first open?

Thanks for your help!

First, take a few minutes to just relax, you read stressed.

Second, read this thread: Boarding on the Wonder

As it discusses boarding which is exactly the same for both ships.

:)
Well Mark, that is a first -- I usually read excited not stressed! ;)
Thanks for the link to the boarding thread -- that is just what I needed.

(who isn't at all stressed -- just very, very excited!)

You're welcome! Usually a whole bunch of questions like that is someone getting stressed/worried, didn't guess it could just be excited too :)

Is this just in the planning stages or imminent, and which cruise?

We just got back yesterday from a wonderful wonderful trip on the wonder!!!! We got to the port about 10:45, checked in and were about the 7th family in line.....The doors to board the ship opened at exactly 11:45. I want to go back!

Mark -

This is for our cruise for May 1-8, 2004. We are going with 2 other families who have never cruised before (DH and I have been on several cruises, DCL and others) so I am in charge of all the planning and trying to get info for the others so they know just what to expect (one family is very concerned about everything! LOL!). In fact, for the past 6 months (and for the next 5 months) I have been sending out a "Cruise Update" to the families with tips/tricks/info about various aspects of the cruise -to keep up the excitement :). This past month's newsletter was about the spa. Next month's will be about on-board activities. I am trying to put together an extra e-mail this month with details about our flight to Orlando (we are flying down the night before), hotel, transfers, what to expect at the port, etc.

Thanks for asking!

Geesh Jen,

I think you should post your newsletter with tips/tricks/info right on here too!! LOL ;)

We all would like to read those interesting things as well...:wave2:

Just don't include your flight details and that stuff, *giggles*

Good luck in your planning! Sounds like it will be put together well...Happy Cruising. *wink, wink*
