We're going to Mickey's Backyard BBQ next week, and I've heard that it is just long tables and you get seated as you arrive. Does anyone know what is about the earliest you can get into the BBQ or have any advice for the evening? We're really excited about it, and I'd like to get there early so that we have good seats so that our young kids (3 and 6) can see.

i would say maybe half hr to an hr early would be fine. ( you wait until they open the chain to go in) We went about an hr early when we attended and there wasn't anyone in line.(it was drizzling rain a bit) I was happy we went early because we were able to snag a seat right at the dance floor. We could could just sit and watch the kids dance with the characters. Mickey and Minnie did come around to the tables as well. The other characters were to busy dancing. They were happy to take their pics with the kids on the dancefloor though.

Also dont get concerned when all the kids swarm the characters the first time they come out, by the end of the evening my kids pretty much had the characters to themselves.

Oh, they do pass out lemonade and beer while your waiting in line.

Beer while you wait in line?! COOL! Why can't WalMart adopt that policy? Or Toy Story Mania?!

:santa:

Here are a couple of photos that might help

Well well well!!! Beer in line trumps the Howdy Do Review!!!

Shan- They could not do that at Wal-Mart cause they'd go broke either handing out beer or paying more than 2 cashiers during any one particular shift!!

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Cool your heels Missy! I never said it compared to the Hoop Dee Doo! I think I'd still rather pay for my own beer as I wait in line for HDDR versus free beer in line for MBYBBQ... but free beer in line, as a bare concept, is sheer brilliance!

:santa:

Great, thanks for the answer and the pictures.

And I'd vote for the free beer anywhere we could get it!

OK, how about free beer in line - then whenthey drop the chain say no thanks and go back to the campsite:rolleyes1

$$ for $$ - gotta agree that the Howdy Do Review is the better choice. That being said - free beer with each site would make for very happy campers!!! FtW would never lack for occupancy! :thumbsup2

And Shan...you only like the HDDR because it fulfills your inner desire to be a performer. :rotfl2::rotfl2: (For SOME reason - they always pick Shanta to be a part of the show. Must be due to the overwhelming resemblance of some other HUGE iconic figure! :santa:)
