What time should we arrive?

Hello,

We are staying 8 nights at Fort Wilderness in Jan. We purchased 8 days worth or park hopper passes.

From what I understand we can check in at the campground at 1:00. After that we were planning on setting up quickly and going to one of the parks. We have to be back at the campground by 9:00 for a dinner show we reserved.

So here's my question....Is there someway we can start our vacation before 1:00? If we were staying at one of the hotels, we would plan to get there early, leave our luggage at the hotel and head to the park early so we have plenty of time. Can we leave our RV at Fort Wilderness before 1:00? Do they allow early check-in if the site is empty? Can we park our RV at any of the parks? How much would parking cost? Do we get our tickets when we check in? If not, where do we get our tickets?

Would it be better to just enjoy the campground on check-in day and use our park hopper pass on the day we check out? If so, where do we leave our RV that day?

This is our first trip to Disney so we are a little clueless. I appreciate any advice.

I would get there at 8am to check in. Your site may be empty and you could go and set up and head to the parks. If it's not ready they will give you a number to call after 1pm to get your site number. They will have you use the large overflow lot at the Fort to store your MH until your site is ready. From the overflow lot you can walk to the Disney bus stop and use Disney transportation to go anywhere you want inside WDW (map and routes are posted at the bus stop). after your site is ready come back to the fort and park your MH on your site and set up (before dark easier).

If you have a package deal you will get your tickets at check in

If you decide to use your park hopper on your last day you can store the HM in the overflow lot at the fort. Just let them know in the office.

Make sure you read the Fort Wilderness FAQ thread

I agree wit h everything Pirate Jeff already said, but I did want to add that if you prefer, after you check in, you can park your RV at any of the parks. All parking at WDW is free to resort guests. This is good through and including the day that you check out.

Wow! That answers all of our questions. Thank you both sooooo much!

Thanks for the link to the FAQ thread.
