What time should I arrive at Port

Hello again,
I have never been to Miami, so I am not familiar with the port. We are concierge, so I don't think we will have a PAT. My question is what time should we be pulling into the port to get parked, get our bags, and get through security. I am not sure how long it will take to actually get to the desk to check-in since I know you must go through security etc... first.

What time would you recommend arriving?

Thank you!

We found security (in terms of actually gaining access to the terminal) to be more stringent at Miami than Port Canaveral. It took us probably 45 minutes to get from dropping off the luggage to getting to the check-in desk. We did not park at the port, though, jsut got dropped off. So I would say an hour is likely to be reasonable.

what about at Galveston? anyone ever sail from there and what was your experience? this is my first cruise ever

I'm sailing out of Galveston for the first time as well. I'm interested to hear about others experiences. Like how early before your scheduled time should you be there?

PAT = Port Arrival Time. If you are not taking Disney Transportation and are not Concierge or Platinum, you should arrive at the port not before your scheduled PAT. This helps to control the flow of passengers through security to avoid long lines and excess waiting for everyone. Your boarding number is tied to your scheduled Port Arrival Time.

If you have a car and are parking at the port in Galveston, you may want to drop off your family with luggage and then go to the port parking lot. They shuttle you to the port terminal and the shuttles don't have much room for luggage. We ended up waiting about 30 min for a port parking shuttle but single riders with no luggage were able to hop on quickly.

Oh Ok thanks for the information. It is just me and my adult daughter. my husband is dropping us off as we are "locals" (we live about 1-1/2 hours from Galveston). Then we should have plenty of time to grab a bite as my hubby says HE needs to eat and will not be able to grab food on the ship like we will LOL
