we are looking at prices for next year, have to bear in mind i have 3 young children and a dh who hates the heat, can't go in may or late april as ds has his year 2 sats, thinking jan, feb, early march, avoiding april, may, june-sep, then thinking of oct/nov, but not sure yet, prefer earlier then later in the year.

Hi Janemum3 :wave2:

October :
is a nice time to visit - you get all the Halloween celebrations and the Food and Wine Festival in Epcot :)
Weather isn't too hot and there isn't that much rain either.

November:
if you go late November you will catch the start of the Christmas Celebrations :)
Weather similar to October.

January/February:
Low crowds are a plus, but weather can be a little chilly. Also a time when a lot of attractions are closed for rehab.

March:
Low crowds and nice weather.

If you go to this weather site:

Historic Weather

You can put in the month you are interested in and check back over the past few years to see what the weather was like :)

School is the issue, out of school Iwould recommend avoid all school holidays, as it is very very busy, I agree October is vety goodI used to do that a lot half term one week, out of school a week great time to go weather, crowds and halloween.

May for me was good, but avoid last week and first week of june due to crowds increasing and also I think Gay week brings many people in. I did three weeks before last two of may and first in June, May was empty and great, June a switch went over and it was so crowded.

If stuck to Summer holidays try the very last week in August, for WDW, firstly lots of USA kids go back ealrier than us, cutting visitors and many UK people do Disney first then a week at the beach. Try tonip in the last week, after our bank holiday, but before their Memorial bank holiday weekend it wasnt busy and you can get free disney dinner plan.

Hi

We are off for three weeks this September - :cool1:

Been in September, June & May previously, I would recommend early May, or September... Thats just my recommendation though - Good Luck:rolleyes1

We went late Feb/mid March last year. Had glorious weather the whole time we were there. Not a drop of rain. But were told that was better than average.

That time of year is generally very warm, rather than hot. Crowds were very low most of the time, But got VERY BUSY during the third week of March. The US schools/colleges break up around early-mid March and its called Spring Break. The Middle of March is very busy and best avoided.

If/When we go back it would be mid-Feb - very early March to avoid Spring Break and the crowds are VERY LOW. Hardly any waiting time for the big rides.

October Half term is a really good time as it's not to hot and not to crowded. The only down side is that a lot of Brits go now so it may be hard to get a flight if you don't book early enough.

Have a Great trip.

have done october half-term and early january, and both were really nice for weather and crowds. january has the edge because we felt like we had the parks to ourselves but October had more going on. So i think if the children are going to get bored at food and Wine, and the halloween party is not smething you are drawn to, then january would be the way to go. the earlier close times won't matter with 3 small kids as they won't last till 10pm anyway;)
