we'll be at OKW and VWL next week (crazy last-minute trip) in studios.

anyway, we might do laundry one of the nights, not sure which night yet.

what time of day would you say we'll have the best chance of walking in to the laundry room, and all the machines will be available for use w/o a wait?

also, what time are the laundry rooms open until?

I did laundry at VWL on a Monday(around 3pm) afternoon a few weeks ago. I sat at the pool while it was washing and then checked it and put it in the dryer after 30 minutes. It was done.......so next time I'll check it after 25 minutes! The dryer took longer but I had a mixed load. So, I took out what was dry, folded it and took it to my room. When I returned, the rest was done.

p.s. one person came in while I was there........so it was just the two of us.

Vacation....Laundry........Vacation Wins.

Just wear your clothes into the hot tub each night.

It's bad enough we have to wear costumes in the hot tubs, now you want people to wear even _more_ clothing there? :D

Having never stayed in a studio myself, I can only offer anecdotal experience with the WL at mid-week...early morning (6 -7 am) the laundry facility was pretty full. I'd be willing to bet that Saturdays and Sundays between 11 am and 4 pm (check-out and check-in times) the laundry rooms would probably be least busy.

I'm assuming you don't want to do laundry at 3:00 am. Otherwise I'd pick that time of day.

Well, once the wash is cleaned is must be laid out to dry, doesn't it ? I recommend placing the wet clothing in the litehouse sauna.

At OKW there is a laundry room at the pools. My guess it is open 24/7. I would try to do the laudry at OKW during the day while you are swimming.

LOL. well i didn't even think of that 'cause i thought the laundry rooms would be closed at night. are they really open 24/7? (not that i want to do laundry at 3am)

btw, where are the laundry rooms at VWL?

i know the OKW ones are near the pools. so, yeah i was thinking of doing the laundry during one of the afternoon breaks.

either that, or at night after we get back from the parks, and during when we're winding down in our room.

thanks for the 25 min washer timing.
how long does the dryer cycle run for?

heh. yeah... i know... Vacation might end up winning this time again too.
just trying to pack a little as possible.
we know we can do it, heck... we survived for 5 weeks in Europe out of one small backpack each person before. :p
in that case, we had to do laundry.

for some reason though, i've found that we need to pack more stuff for a Disney trip than for a 5week Europe trip. doesn't make any sense.

Well,if you were hiking thru France, who cares what you looked or smelled like :-).

The laundry at VWL is in the dumpster wing but near the exit to the pool. I think.

The laundry room at VWL is on the first floor, but I am confused about which wing. I was always getting turned around in that rotunda area.....it wasn't too far from the pool.

We washed two or three times and never had to wait. DH did a load at 11:00 pm when he realized he was out of underwear. Another day we did laundry in the late afternoon during a thunderstorm.

There are only 2 washers and 4 dryers - one dryer didn't work.

BTW, I looked for the dumpster, but never saw it! I specifically asked NOT to have a room near the dumpster and the CM laughed.

If you face the elevators, you make a left and then a quick right -otherwise you'd walk into a wall ;) The washers/dryers and vending are a few doors down on the right. There is a very tiny sign next to the door. I missed it the first time I went searching. but when I backtracked, I found it. I would say the dryer ran about 45 minutes or so - but it will really depend on what you are drying. I only needed to wash one thing but decided to do all the dirty laundry.......all 2 day's worth!

Disneyberry, if you bring me with you I will do your laundry!!!:D 4 weeks is dragging more slowly than waiting to hear about ROFR! :p

thanks again for all the replies everyone.
hulagirl, ;) time sure is passing way too fast for me though. we just booked this trip on Wed (yeah, talk about last-minute) and i barely have enough time to finish packing!
i feel totally unprepared considering i normally spend months "planning" a trip. :p
can't believe we'll be "Home" in less than 48 hours!
