What Time is the 4 o'clock Rain? -- Updates 11/2-4 -- Tim's surprise and Marco&Recap

I love the Keys tour. I really need to do it again some of these days. The right tour guide really makes the experience...sounds like you got a good one!

Now its off to Nikkiland!

Jill in CO

All caught up again! :goodvibes OOH you did something Lisa always tlaks about, waling on an empty main street. I would LOVE to do that tour someday, on my bucket list. :yay::yay::yay:

I LOVE the anniversary smooch pics of you and Mark.:love::love:

Before I get to your update....

Today is much better.. especially when we are talking about how people over the age of 30 should not use the word bestie... well my friend and co-worker turns to me and said:
If you let me lick my finger and stick it in your ear.. you can call me your bestie"

yeah that really happened...
Ummmmmmm.......

You should of said... errr never mind. I don't want to get in trouble with the mods who frequent Kathy's threads to make sure she stays on topic. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Kathy- I caught your update before I left. Great photopass pics... I'm having a bit of deja vu. I feel like I've typed that before. :rotfl:

Does the tour ruin any Disney magic? While it sounds like fun I'd be worried I'd find out something I didn't want to know.

See ya real soon- I'm out! :wave2:

I have always wanted to do that tour....though I thought you could take pictures, except when you go backstage. maybe they changed the rules on that now.
Claire is too young for it yet, so I have to plan it when someone can keep her while I do or wait a few more years.

Before I get to your update....

I have the same question but apparently she has been sworn to secrecy!!!

Have a wonderful trip!!! :cheer2:

What a great way to end a great trip. The tour sounds fantastic. I would be a little disappointed in the no pictures rule, but so completely understand why you would want to not have any out there floating around. Keeps the magic.

We said goodbye to Epcot and walked to the car. Neither one of us really had a feel for a plan this evening, so as I was checking FB, I noted that a DISer who I was very anxious to meet, had posted that she was at the new Art of Animation resort. Mark and I had wanted to check it out anyway, so we decided to go over there and check it out and meet my DIS friend.
You were making a habit of stalking Disers on this trip, weren't you? :rotfl2::lmao:

Yep, I met the famous D (DMGeurts here on the DIS)
Another successful Dis meet in the books. I really hope you're keeping track of how many there were on this trip, because I've definitely lost track. :lmao::rotfl:

After our tour, we went back to the resort, had an ice cream treat and another Turtle Krawl
A nice way to end an evening.:thumbsup2

We checked in for our Keys to the Kingdom Tour and got our bottle of water for the tour and told we could walk up and down Main Street until it was closer to our departure time.
Worth the price of admission already. :thumbsup2

Up next, on the road to Marco and did we make the wrong decision of our route?
After how many times making this drive???? :confused3 :rotfl:

/
well the offer stands for any PP+ photos while we are together :thumbsup2

can't wait to take that tour, have to wait for Megan to be 16 though! cool getting photos with no people on main street

nice you got to meet up with D! and meet the mayor and his wife too!

Mark offered that we leave Marco REALLY early the morning we were flying out of Orlando and and stop at Epcot on the way to the airport so I could ride Spaceship Earth. Didn't I tell you I had THE best husband in the world?:love:

Great idea!:thumbsup2

We stopped for a few more photopass pictures on our way out.

Do you think Photopass staff eventually gets to be like the chef at those all-you-can-eat buffet places? "You've been here four hours! Go home!":rotfl2:

Yep, I met the famous D (DMGeurts here on the DIS) who makes those beautiful custom Disney bags. I was so happy that we were able to work it out as we feared with D and girls not having park hoppers and us being at different parks, we wouldn't be able to meet.

Nice job on DIS Meet #259. You're catching up to the Photopass total. :rotfl:

Mark knew by this time what we were doing and he was getting more and more excited.

We checked in for our Keys to the Kingdom Tour and got our bottle of water for the tour and told we could walk up and down Main Street until it was closer to our departure time. So what does one do with an almost empty Main Street? Take pictures of course.

Very cool! I'd love to see Main Street empty someday. Actually, I'd love to do that tour too. Julie and I were going to go next year, just by ourselves, to celebrate our 40th birthdays and we were talking about doing that tour. Then this baby came along and screwed everything up.

Our guide was Molly and she was THE best CM we have ever encountered. Friendly, professional, always with a smile, funny, etc. It is a wonderful tour and I strongly encourage everyone to try it once. Unfortunately, you are not allowed to take pictures at all during the tour, but we learned a few secrets and really enjoyed it. About half way through the tour, they provide you with lunch at Columbia Harbor House (you get to select your meal when you check in) and it is included in the price of the tour. We also got a "Key" to show we had done the tour. We would definitely do this again.

Sounds great! I'd love to do this someday.

So sweet of Mark to offer one last stop to ride Spaceship Earth before going home!

The Keys to the Kingdom Tour sounds amazing! On my list!!

Yay for Nickiland! :goodvibes

I am dying to take that tour, but it feels like I'm never there long enough to devote so much time to it. Someday, though, I'm going to make it happen!

The Art of Animation lobby looks amazing. Glad you got to squeeze that DIS meet in there!

Kathy, I have never been on Main Street when it was nearly empty; however, that is about to change. This upcoming trip we have an 8:00 in the morning ADR for the Crystal Palace. I'm not overly excited about buffet breakfast foods, but I can't wait to see the MK empty and hope to get some great pictures.

Bob, you are gonna love it!! And the buffet at Crystal palace is probably one of the best on property. You'll love all the fresh choices since you, like me, like to watch what you are eating. Not to mention the goodies they have in case you want to splurge a little. :goodvibes I think I had at least one or two Mickey waffles. ::yes::

Ms. Kat, I'm so happy to hear you liked the tour, I hear a lot of wonderful things about it and that it's truly worth doing. I've often wondered if it would take away from the magic.
Since I'm still fairly new to the parks in WDW I'm going to wait it out for a few more years before I finally take the leap to do it. I think. :rotfl: Who knows, if I can convince my hubby to do another trip with me I might have to conjure a few tricks up my sleeve in order for him to feel like he's there for a new/good reason. :rolleyes2

Can't wait to see pics of you and Nikki together!! :goodvibes

Just getting all caught up!

I'm still totally loving all your PP photos! You are definitely making me consider it for next year! I especially love the one you got with the fire works, by Crystal Palace. Thats becoming one of our tradition spots!

I love the idea of giving away a balloon every year. It seems like your father must of been a really sweet guy! The meet and greet with Tigger and Pooh made me tear up!

Here is the story (short version) A DIS friend of ours Liesa (All7OfUs) who was living in Kazakstan at the time, was running a game on her PTR. I won the game and she sent me a whip as a prize. As any good DISer does, I took pictures of my package that traveled 1/2 way around the world and of my prize. I figured what is the fun of taking a picture of a whip that is sitting on the stairs, so I had my DW take some pics of the whip in action. Yea, DW thinks I'm a weirdo but she knew what she was getting into when she married me. :rotfl2:

Kathy saved the picture on her computer and she decides to torture me with it once a year.

So that is the back story to the whip picture. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the explanation.

Linda, Tim and I go way back here on the DIS. He and his beautiful daughter, Juliana, were my first real DIS "get to know you outside the DIS" friends.

I think it is awesome that we sometimes get to really meet our Dis friends outside of the Box. I have made some good friends from the DisBoards. Of course, it helps when they don't live thousands of miles away. ;)

Loved the updates and ALL the photopass pix. I think the two of you are adorable together. Hoping someday to still be holding hands and smooching my DH after 30 years of marriage. And Mr. Mark gets two thumbs up for his Germany treat-nothing better than some goodies from the caramel shop!

We really enjoyed our Keys to the Kingdom tour. This was the second one I've done. The last one was 5 years ago. Some stuff has changed, but a lot was still the same. With my old brain, it never hurts to hear it over again. :upsidedow

Off to the beach!!! :cheer2:

Glad you got to see Art of Animation. I'm looking forward to seeing the Christmas decorations there, if everything goes as planned.

So far, we have not met anything other than nice down-to-earth DIS friends. :thumbsup2 It's nice to say we have Disney friends all over the U.S. as well as in other countries.

Awww Kathy - it was so wonderful meeting you and Mark... I too wished we had a photo of you, Suzi and I together... I certainly wasn't thinking. I sure hope the next time we meet - we have a bit more time.

As for your tour - I dream of doing that one one day... But then I am afraid it will wreck the magic for me. What do you think? Are you happy you did it? Do you think it will change the way you see things?

Great update! And thanks for joining in on my newest PTR. :)

D~

Hi Kathy! Just wanted to send you a quick thanks for your positive vibes for my boys! We are all exhausted here in Boston. After the last out I ran out of my house in my slippers and PJs and drove to my parents house to celebrate with my dad. Stayed up til 2 am watching post game! Everyone is Boston is red eyed but happy.

I am way behind, and am working backwards reading this TR to figure out where I left off. But, in the mean time I have to comment on this. I admire you for driving to celebrate with your Dad. You will NEVER regret that! Personally, I think my Dad (passed away in Feb @ almost 89yrs) had a hand(wing) or two in the wind.

KAthy- I'll catch up I promise.
