What Time is the 4 o'clock Rain? -- Updates 11/2-4 -- Tim's surprise and Marco&Recap

It was finally time for our fastpasses for TSM. When we got there, we were in shock. The line for standby was at 180 minutes!!! And, not only that, there was a line OUT THE DOOR for the fastpass return. I will say it went quickly, but I have never seen it like that in all of our visits. :scared1:

No way would I wait three hours for that. To each his own, though.

Mark got his revenge for the butt whooping I did to him on Buzz:

But you whooped him on accuracy. :thumbsup2

The tigger tattoo is great! I love it!

So happy to get to ride The Backlot Tour this trip incase it does end up closing! That's awesome that you got to ride it this trip, as well!

Wow! 180 minutes for TSM?!?! I've seen it at 120 once before and thought that was just silly, but 180 is remarkable! I can't imagine waiting that long for one ride! Thank goodness you had your fastpasses!!

Hope you had a fun weekend with your DIS meets and going to the Zoo!! :-)

Your Tigger tattoo is so cute! Love it! I want one! Next time!

Fun pictures from the backlot tour. I was really impressed with all the different costumes they had. Very cool.

I also think Catastrophe Canyon is very impressive, especially for people who are not expecting it!

Love TSM. We didn't get to ride it in June, so I'll be looking forward to it in October.

Judy LOVES Backlot Tour !!! It was closed the last time we wer there. The first time we rode it together , I arranged for her to sit on the "right " side to get the full effect:rotfl2:When the water started pouring down towards her she gave me a look and said I am gonna kill you:rotfl2:As I was laughing my head off !!!

I am so glad Tim told you to slow down....I had a chance to catch up then too!

It looks like you two have so much fun together! I wish Skip had the same Disney passion that I have. he goes, but he is not passionate about it at all.

/
Gotta love Star Tours! My sister had her neighbours over for dinner last evening to discuss their upcoming trip to the World! Their little guy is obsessed with Star Wars so they were telling him all about the ride and the shop....he kept saying "but what if we can't find it" :lmao: That's when she broke it to them "you can't and won't ever miss it";)

Got caught up while eating lunch!!

I would not wait 180 minutes for any attraction!! And FP being out the door is ridiculous. Now I understand why you didn't like my walk on rides yesterday!! :lmao:

What were you doing on the DIS while at the parks? :rotfl::rotfl:

I wouldn't wait that long for an attraction either...I don't care what it is!

Wow, DHS must have been crowded that day if FP were already at 10:50. Of course they have been letting people in really early now so maybe that was why.

It could be that they let the in early and we just don't do the cattle run.

That boy next to you on TOT looks scared out of his mind! :lmao:

I thought so too, but he held it together during the ride.

Bummer that Mark didn't get to ride RnRC. I think they sometimes wait till later in the day/morning to open the single rider line for some reason.

That makes no sense to me at all...they don't do that for Test Track.

I'm not sure if I'm going to try Star Tours next month or not. I keep thinking that getting sick last time was a fluke but what if it wasn't? I don't want to feel that miserable again!

I'm not crazy about it anymore, myself. I got a sick feeling in June, but I was okay in August...but still not a fan.

May you guys didn't have much luck, with no single rider on RnRC and then Muppets closed. But I love your Tigger tatoo! One of these days I'm going to get a Pluto one.

I knew ahead of time Muppets was closed; and, in truth, it needs something new added to it. I love getting my Tigger tattoo every year and I'm surprised you've not gotten a Pluto one.

I loved all of the movie props at the end of Backlot!

It was fun seeing these since it had been so long since we did the ride.

Oh, you asked about the Buzz targets. Here's a link I found that describes the best places to aim:

Buzz Lighyear Targets

Thank you...I'm going to study that before our December trip.

Great updates!

Thanks, Carol.

My DH loves the new Star Tours, we rode it 6 times our last visit, LOL.

My DH loves it too; but my stomach can only handle one ride.

Wow, 180 minute SB for TSM?? :scared1: I don't care how great the ride is, nothing is worth standing in line for 3 hours. :sad2:

Absolutely nothing is worth waiting 3 hours for.

Guess there will be more rides to FP :upsidedow

But maybe then we won't need FP's for TSM.

Yay for at home DISmeets:dance3:

It's only a two hour drive to Milwaukee and it is now a yearly tradition.

KathyI would've definitely done the Great Movie Ride...one last time  and nice Tigger tattoo :thumbsup2

Thanks...glad you like the Tigger tattoo.

No WALTER in the Muppet land?!?! What's that about?!?!

Refurb time.

also in the star wars store I really love the tee that says Judge my by my size...

We bought that last year for the son of Mark's assistant...so it's been there awhile.

Think i need that for Meg!

Do you want me to look for it in December just in case?

I have never done the back-lot tour i hope it is still open next year! :thumbsup2

Not sure when the rumored closing is for.

The picture with Mark and the Singing in the rain?!?! Priceless!

That's my DH (who is right now up in bed sleeping...he's not feeling well today at all...sick tummy).

I'll be there from Dec 1st til the 7th, staying at SSR for the 1st time so I'm excited. I am working on maybe one more day but so far no luck. We are driving so I have a little leeway. I just don't do anything that goes upside down and am pretty much staying away from most coasters this trip due to a serious ankle injury.

So our trips do overlap. Sorry to hear about the ankle...hope it is starting to heal for you.

I have plans this trip to ride Star Wars as many times as I can tolerate it to see how many different scenes I can get. DHS is definitely not a favorite but I do love TSM. I usually beat DH there. He kills me on Buzz Lightyear, he cheats.

I can't handle more than one trip on Star Tours...upsets my stomach. I think I've now seen three different scenes (don't know enough about the movie to be sure).

That's me....Starr! :)

Oh my....3rd floor and no elevator! Yikes!!

Always love to see Mark's hat pictures.

LOVE the picture of you on ToT...too funny!!

Forgive me...I was having a bad day and my mind went blank (that sounds better than I'm getting old and can't remember ;)).

Thanks, he enjoys modeling them; it was a funny picture on TOT and I'm glad I was able to redneck it.

I am shocked I am still up to date...and really enjoying your TR...of course I am ignoring everything else in life :lmao:

Ruthie, you are doing great. Please don't ignore the other stuff in your life...that's more important than my TR.

What is it with Mark and the swords? When we were there in Dec he and Todd were having sword fights in one of the gift shops and we had to yell at them remember? :rotfl2:

Yes, he does. And it was at the Emporium when you were buying a postcard to send to Tina's son. They both looked so guilty when we yelled at them. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

And your pictures are making me a little sad I am skipping WDW this year....not sad enough to leave my baby but sad that I am missing out on our F&W blow out birthday party extravaganza :worried:

I'm very sad you aren't coming in December, but I understand you not wanting to leave your baby.

I think Mr. Mark needs to own that Animal Hat. :rotfl:

It would be a great dog walking hat!

We haven't done the Backlot Tour in years either. We meant to this year, but...

....you didn't make it, huh?

I wonder if TSMM had been down that morning? I've never seen the FP line that long.

I wonder too; I'd never seen it like that. I think they finally stopped letting people in line at one point.

What a great morning at DHS you guys had

We really did well (with the exception of no Rock & Roll for Mark.

Your descriptions of the stores made me laugh - "the evil shop" & the "dump shop" ;)

Well, it was all the "evil" people and every ride has a "dump" shop. ;)

:thumbsup2I love the shout out!!!!

Anytime friend.

 WTH was up with TSMM ?? 180 minutes is nuts. FP out the door? that is nuts too

I couldn't believe it when we got back with our FP and there was a line. I have to say that once we got inside the door, we moved really quickly.

I will need to do the backlot door one last time before it goes away.

I hope you get it in.

Latest news I heard was Starwars land was a go but Carsland is on hold? :confused3

Really? I'd rather have Carsland than Star Wars land.

AS always I will believe what is going on once they close things down and come up with something concrete. ::yes::

I agree with you there, Pat.

We are at SSR from Nov 30 to Dec 7!!! I am not a coaster girl myself (chicken) but my DD loves them. She can go on RR with Mr Mark and TOT with Ms Kathy :)

You know we will do those with the girls. Now the girls better not back out on me on TOT like they almost did in June.

Ah DHS, I really try to like it but it is just not my favorite. Thank goodness I have you and Mr Mark to take Avery on the rides. I like TSM ok but will not run to get there or wait any more that 45 min. I AM very excited to see the lights though!

I try to like it too. There's just not enough to do in my opinion, and I know you don't like coasters (except BTMR); too bad we can't get the girls to do Animation. Have you never seen the lights? This is going to be a big treat for you and the girls if you haven't.

Hi Kathy! :wave2:

Just want to sign up here - found the link while trying to catch up on "lost time" here. ;)
It will take me a while to catch up here too, but I WILL, I promise! :goodvibes

Karin, thank you for joining. Have you started your TR? If so, please give me the link.

DHS is my second favorite park... second only to MK. Although in all fairness the lights is one MAJOR reason we love DHS. Since we have only been during the holiday times, I don't know how it would rank with the lights. Won't be finding out anytime soon! :rotfl:

I can see that because of the lights and it being the only time you have been/gone.

I LOVE all the hat pictures, but animal has to be one of my all time favorites!!!! :thumbsup2

Animal is one of my favorite's too.

Loved the DHS pictures!!!

Thanks, D.

I can't believe how busy TSM was!!! WOWZA!!! I am glad the line went quickly though.

It was unbelievable...and I've been at Disney on 4th of July and don't remember any ride ever being that long. Wait, I take that back...Soarin' was almost 180 minutes when we were there in June.

Looks like you were able to get a lot done... I often wonder how it would be just going to Disney with one other person - it must be so agreeable. LOL

We did manage to get a lot done; we were able to miss the crowds for most things.

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your day!

D~

A short update might be coming up tonight.

I check in on Dec 1st. The drive is at least 14 hours so I'm just crashing off site for 1 night and going to the dark side on the 1st. I want to see Harry Potter and the Grinch. We will have to try and meet up one day.

Be sure to look for us...you won't be able to miss our crazy group...maybe we will call the December trip report, "4 Ladies and a Man". :rotfl::rotfl:

I need that Animal hat :)

You want me to send one to you?

hi Kathy! Cute Tigger tattoo!

Thanks, Brenda. As we all know, Tigger is my favorite.

We've not done the back lot tour in a few years I guess I need to get my butt over there in case those rumors are true. This time I'll be ready for the water!

You best do it in December just in case.

I can't imagine anyone seeing 180 minutes for standby for TSM and jumping in that line. Wow! Crazy. :scared:

They either stopped letting people in line or people stopped getting in on their own.

Happy Friday to you. :goodvibes

Thanks, hope you had a good one.

180 minutes?!? That's just lunacy!! I think it was already to 110 minutes when we got to the park late by an hour one day. I was not having it and decided we should forget about getting on that ride for the day. :worried:

Mackie and I wanted to try and do the Backlot tour when we went to DHS on our first day there , for the same reasons you did, the line was so long we decided to skip it. I don't know what It was with the crowds, but they were out of control (probably the new FL attracting people to come to the parks) . Everything that would normally not have a wait, had a wait, and a long one at that.

Mark looks pretty good in pink! :thumbsup2 I'm thinking he needs that hat to take cookie for walks in too!

What a cute Tigger tattoo!

One of these days, you're going to have to buy Mark one of the many silly hats that he is always trying one. I'm thinking the Animal one would be a good one to start with.

I hate to tell ya this but we've seen 180 minute waites for Toy Story Mania (and other major attractions) during our May trips. Thank goodness for Fastpasses!

Somehow I always miss the starts of your trip reports! Subbed in and caught up! I think those desserts at BOG look amazing! Now I want one! Way to go on beating Mark on Buzz! My sister beat me out in DL, then I beat her on TSM. I havn't seen the TSM line that long either! I think the longest i have seen is 120 minutes during peak season. The lines though at DL are complete opposite of DHS for TSM! My sister and I went on 3 times in a row in DL in about 40 minutes! Sad Mark didn't get to go on RNR :( I can't believe how empty your elevator for TOT was! Everyone must have been over at TSM!

I'm sorry...I thought I sent a message to everyone who has read in past, but I always miss one or two. I have loved the chocolate dessert at BOG every time. Thank you...it was nice gloating for a day. Funny how the line is so long at DW and not at DL. I think you are right...everyone was at TSM and that is why TOT was so empty.

I am enjoying the DHS pictures. We went on the backlot tour on our last visit in January. I miss what it once was with the backlot houses and tour of the backstreet. I do enjoy taking my time and looking at all the movie and TV props and clothing.

I agree; they took so much out and I think that's why we've not done it in years (plus it is LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG).

Mary I think we are meeting up with you, the girls, Kathy and Mark at AK, the girls are welcome to ride EE with us...we get as many rides in as we can, did 6 times on our last trip, so have to beat that :thumbsup2
looking forward to meeting you all!

Yep, that's the day we are hooking up, Lisa. I'm sure Avery (not sure about Cayley) will love doing EE more than once with you, Megan and Mark. Six times? NO THANK YOU!

way to crank out the updates Kathy!

I have to or I'll forget what we did.

fun day at DHS! cool only a 10 minute wait for ToT, bummer about RnR though, hope Mark got to ride it later on....and TSM no way I could wait 180 minutes for a ride

I should have gotten back on TOT, but I didn't want to keep Mark waiting. Good thing I didn't too.

love all the fun hat photos, agree with the rest about the animal hat, definitely needs to be added to Mark's stash :cool1:
so great seeing how much you and Mark have together :goodvibes

Maybe I'll surprise him and get it for him in December. We do have fun...we're just "old" kids.

I wonder if the Muppets being closed contributed at all to TSMM being so much busier than usual?

That's another possibility too.

I still haven't gotten to go on the new Star Tours! First because I was pregnant, and then because we skipped DHS on our last trip. Will they take back my AP if it doesn't happen soon? :rotfl2:

I don't think they'll take back your AP for that little discretion, and being pregnant is a good excuse not to ride.

I really hope they replace the Backlot Tour with something...it's been past its prime for way too long!

Yes it has (so has Indiana Jones if you ask me).

Lot of great updating going on here! Glad I got caught up!

Hi, Sheree, glad you were able to catch up.

Love Mark's hat pictures.

He says thank you.

We don't spend a lot of time at DHS either. We don't do many rides there (we're not coaster junkies).

We both used to love coasters, and then we aged. ;) We used to go to Cedar Point, Kings Island, Great America and Universal...just can't do them anymore.

TSM - definitely worth the FP, but not three hours!!!

Amen!

Hi Kathy I am all caught up thanks to the chapter links !!How I got caught up is quite a story !!One of the individual has a new behavior plan , if she earns 6 points she gets time with staff!! Well she earnt 5points and I asked her what she wanted to d with our time and she picked loking at Disney stuff:rotfl2:So we looked at all your links and soon she was saying "Look at Mark's Hat this time ":rotfl2:

Rosie, this story warmed my heart...thank you.

No way would I wait three hours for that. To each his own, though.

Yes, I'm with you. Takes way too much time out of the day too.

But you whooped him on accuracy. :thumbsup2

I do like the way you think.

Very nice introductions...:thumbsup2; read up through your first day-so exciting to be taking such a long trip...:cool1:

I'm glad you got your coffee- No Starbucks... then no walking and talking for me...;)

BOG is so lovely and well done... It is a fabulous addition to the MK dining...

Ha... Good for you on beating Mark's score on Buzz... I have sadly never beaten Eric's scores... rather sad...

The tigger tattoo is great! I love it!

Thank you. :goodvibes

So happy to get to ride The Backlot Tour this trip incase it does end up closing! That's awesome that you got to ride it this trip, as well!

The timing worked well and there was only about a five minute wait until they let the next group in.

Wow! 180 minutes for TSM?!?! I've seen it at 120 once before and thought that was just silly, but 180 is remarkable! I can't imagine waiting that long for one ride! Thank goodness you had your fastpasses!!

I would have been sad to miss it if we didn't get our FP's, but I would have skipped it without the for sure.

Hope you had a fun weekend with your DIS meets and going to the Zoo!! :-)

It was a lot of fun...thanks.

Your Tigger tattoo is so cute! Love it! I want one! Next time!

Thank you, Maryellen. They are fun for the length of the trip I keep threatening my younger son who has four tattoos that I am going to get a permanent one. He looks at me as if I am nuts.

Fun pictures from the backlot tour. I was really impressed with all the different costumes they had. Very cool.

The costumes were fun and interesting; I also liked the prop house a lot.

I also think Catastrophe Canyon is very impressive, especially for people who are not expecting it!

Yes, I love when newbies ride it.

Love TSM. We didn't get to ride it in June, so I'll be looking forward to it in October.

Be sure to get a fastpass. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Judy LOVES Backlot Tour !!! It was closed the last time we wer there. The first time we rode it together , I arranged for her to sit on the "right " side to get the full effect:rotfl2:When the water started pouring down towards her she gave me a look and said I am gonna kill you:rotfl2:As I was laughing my head off !!!

Rosie, you are a hoot!

I am so glad Tim told you to slow down....I had a chance to catch up then too!

Tim asks me to slow down and then disappears again. :rotfl:

It looks like you two have so much fun together! I wish Skip had the same Disney passion that I have. he goes, but he is not passionate about it at all.

We really do...we are just so relaxed and loose and don't have a care in the world.

You had me at "Tigger tattoo". I'm in.

:welcome::welcome: I'm glad Tigger brought you in. He has that way about him. :)

That is funny, Queen. I love the ride...just wish my stomach did.

Hi Kathy just trying to keep up !!!

Trying to get a short update up before I go to bed, Rosie.

Not subbed on to this newish TR Kathy... God bless you for your report links...

Back to catch up...popcorn::

:wave2: Patricia, I'm so happy to see you...I've missed you.

180 minutes?!? That's just lunacy!! I think it was already to 110 minutes when we got to the park late by an hour one day. I was not having it and decided we should forget about getting on that ride for the day. :worried:

I don't blame you, Camille. As great a ride as it is, it's not worth that long of a wait.

That's one of those that if the line is long you don't want to wait because it's already a long attraction to begin with.

Mark looks pretty good in pink! :thumbsup2 I'm thinking he needs that hat to take cookie for walks in too!

I'll tell him you said that.

What a cute Tigger tattoo!

Thanks, Lisa.

One of these days, you're going to have to buy Mark one of the many silly hats that he is always trying one. I'm thinking the Animal one would be a good one to start with.

I say I'm going to do it every trip and never do it.

I hate to tell ya this but we've seen 180 minute waites for Toy Story Mania (and other major attractions) during our May trips. Thank goodness for Fastpasses!

UGH!!! Well, we will have to work those fastpass+ things and do some magic.

Very nice introductions...:thumbsup2; read up through your first day-so exciting to be taking such a long trip...:cool1:

Thanks, Patricia. Our longest trip to date and we loved it.

I'm glad you got your coffee- No Starbucks... then no walking and talking for me...;)

I do not do well at all without my coffee.

BOG is so lovely and well done... It is a fabulous addition to the MK dining...

I agree...they really outdid themselves with it.

Ha... Good for you on beating Mark's score on Buzz... I have sadly never beaten Eric's scores... rather sad...

Your turn will come; I never thought I would do it, but I finally did.

I had hoped to get a big update done tonight, but it just didn't work out by the time I caught up on everyone's threads after being gone all day yesterday at the Milwaukee Zoo and then a DIS meet and the outlet mall. Mark's been sick all afternoon so I kept checking on him. So I'll do a very short update and then do a bigger one tomorrow.

We had just finished up our ride on a very, very busy TSM and it was time for our lunch ADR. We were headed here:

Waiting for our table

In our car

Menu:

I always order the onion rings for an appetizer when we go here:

Mark and I both ordered something new this trip. Mark had the Famous Picnic Burger:

He really enjoyed this. I had the Shrimp Pasta:

What did I think of it? It was one of the most disgusting things I had ever eaten. It was absolutely horrible.

Our waiter came to see if we wanted dessert and we said no. He asked how we liked our meals and saw I had hardly eaten anything (thankfully I had those onion rings) and I told him I didn't like it at all. Much to my surprise when he came back with the check, he had the meal removed from the bill. I certainly didn't expect this or want it...I know everyone can have a bad meal. It did kind of make up for his really terrible service (a trend this trip, unfortunately).

He did take a picture of us before we left:

Up next, we go to class
