What time is Morning Rush Hour Over?

After our Disneyland Resort Adventure, we're heading to the Grand Canyon, which is an 8-hour drive. While we'd like to get an early start, early isn't 4AM Especially as we'll be up late the night before with Fantasmic!

So... when would it be "safe" to leave the hotel on a Friday morning in June? I'm thinking 9:00A would be after the worst of the traffic.

What do you think?

9am should be fine. There may be a little residual traffic, but not much.

You should be heading against traffic anyway so it won't affect you much- as long as you plan to take the 57 north to the 10 east and avoid anything near downtown LA (ie the 5 north from Anaheim).
