What time is check in at the Poly?

We are coming off of a cruise on July 4 and checking into the Poly. We are DVC members and usually stay at the DVC resorts but decided the Poly would be convenient for us on July 4 since we like to visit the MK. I know the routine at the DVC resorts but haven't stayed in a non-DVC resort in quite some time. What's the routine at the Poly, will we be likely to get our room if we check-in around 11:00 AM? We'll want to get over to the MK ASAP so we don't get left out if it reaches capacity. I hate the thought of coming back to the Poly at midnight and trying to get our bags from a bell hop and just getting settled in that late. I'm so hoping we can get a room before we take off for the MK. What do you guys think?

Check in time for the regular WDW resorts is 3pm, DVC resorts is 4pm.

I'm sure if you check in earlier, they'll give you your room if it's ready.

Just FYI- You need to read the fine print. As stated, the check-in time reads "after 3pm". It can happen that your room may not be ready until 4 or 5pm.

We have always gotten our room at the Poly before the 3 p.m. stated time. I would imagine that although the resort will be busy that day, you should be able to get into your room early. The latest we have gotten in is 2, with the earliest being 10 a.m. It all depends on how many people are checking out that day, and how busy the resort is. I know you will have a great time, even if you do have to wait for a room.

IndyDisneyFan is correct. I just wanted to point out what the official policy is. We too have gotten rooms at WDW resorts far earlier than the "official " 3pm check-in time, but we have gotten them an hour or two later as well. It simply depends on availability.
