What time is best? Please help

Hi there, we are looking to book a reservation for the California Grill at the Contemporary resort and also want to watch the MK evening fireworks from the viewing balcony in the CG lounge.

Please could any of you guys pass on some of your super knowledge to help us pick the best time for dinner to include the fireworks afterwards.

How much time would you give to complete your meal and get out onto the viewing balcony? If fireworks are at 8pm would you say 6pm is plenty of time or way too early?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

You have plenty of options.
If you are seated at a table when the fireworks happen, you can either stay at your table or go out on the balcony. Your server will ask you if you'd like your meal served during the fireworks or held until after (we had a 7:15 ressie with 8:00 fireworks - had our apps and held the entrees until after). So you could ask for your food to be held, go out on the balcony, and then come back to finish your meal. We had a window seat and stayed inside. Honestly, if I did it again, I'd go outside for them.

Also, if you eat at Cali Grill at any time in the evening, you may leave and then return to use the viewing balcony later.

The closer to fireworks, the further behind they get on seating because people aren't vacating their tables when they are done eating. If you want to be seated before the fireworks, I would make the reservation 90 minutes before the fireworks.

If you want to enjoy a quiet relaxing meal, make your reservation for fireworks time; go up and see the fireworks from the observation deck and then be seated. It's a completely different restaurant after the people who come for fireworks leave and the rest can enjoy a nice meal.
