goint to a 6:30 Fantasmic show. We are staying @ the Beach, so we want to eat then go back to our room for night, but how much time would allow for the boat ride to there.

I would say make the reservation for about 7:45. This will allow you to exit Fantasmic and the Park and then get a boat to Y&B. Note if it looks as if the line for the boat is extremely long you may fnd it faster to walk.

It takes about 15 to 20 minutes to walk at a regular pace from HS to the YC. It takes about the same amount of time to ride the boat.

Keep in mind, if there is a line for the boat at HS, you may not make the first one and may have to wait for a second. Depending on the timing, you may be waiting an additional 20 minutes.

To be honest, my DH and I almost always walk. We've found we can get to where we are going before they ever drop off at the BC/YC docks.

I'd recommend making dinner for 8 or 8:30. That way you'll not be trying to rush around or worry about not making it. You'll also have ample time to make it back to the YC, whether you walk or ride.

One of our favorite memories of our trip last year was the walk back from HS to the Beach Club after Fantasmic. We were going at a regular pace, and kept up with the boat the whole way back. We arrived at about the same time as the passengers getting off at the dock. My 11 year old son raced ahead of a couple of young ladies in their early twenties who were getting off the boat, turned around to do an "in your face" dance and tripped on the rug at the entrance of the BC lobby. The girls smiled and we all (including him) still laugh at the moment.
