What time for Rope Drop?

10 more days until our WDW trip!!! We hope to do rope drop a few times. What time should we arrive? We are staying at Pop Century...what time should we plan to be in the bus line?

When we were there last month, rope drop on 9am opening days was actually around 8:45am at MK, and between 8:50-8:55am at other three parks. We tried to shoot for being there by 8:30am, on the days we took the bus we wanted to be out at bus stop by 8am. June will be more busy than when we were there, wouldn't hurt to go earlier.

And remember that many mornings for MK have changed to an 8 a.m. opening for the month of June.

Using the bus we like to be at the bus stop an hour before park opening at the latest. That will put us there no later than 30 minutes before opening if everything goes correctly (depending on the park because some are closer than others).

If the park opens at 9 I would be at the bus stop at between 745 and 750. The busses are suppose to run 1 hour before park opening but they do sometimes run early by a few minutes. IF the park opens at 8 then just push this up an hour. Now a fewe of things about this. Yes the Rope Drop for MK is often 10-15 minutes before the listed time. Because of that if somebody shows up at 9 they will realize they were not actually at Rope Drop. Also if you did show up at 845 you will quickly realize you were at Rope Drop but waaayy back in the pack. That said unless you need to do Anna and Elsa or 7DMT because you do not have a FP+, I would not worry too much about having to be there before 830. 840-845 is fine. If you need to do A&E or 7DMT you defintely need to be on the first bus at 8 or earlier from your resort.

Sorry, but that a a very-often-quoted myth.

The buses begin running to the parks about 6:30AM every day of the year, and on the occasions when MK has a 7AM EMH, they will be rolling even earlier.
