What time for Hagrid's

I've tried searching old posts but can't seem to find an answer. We will be at Universal this Thursday and Friday (IOA crowd levels 3 and 4). Park opens at 9. What time should we be outside the park to optimize our wait for Hagrid's? Also, we have 6- and 8-year old kids - are we just going to get passed by a million people as we walk back even if we start at the front of the line? Is there a better way/time to do Hagrid's? We have the Express Pass, so I'm not worried about lines for other rides. TIA!

We left HRH at 7.30 and were always at the front of the queue. People overtook us on the walk to the ride but the wait was less than ten minutes. Try to go bagless or let the fastest walker go ahead and deal with the locker.

Be in line at 8:00 am. Be ready to be a fast walker. Have the fastest person in your group be in Charge of putting stuff in the locker. You will be off the ride by 9:30 as long as it opens first thing in the morning. Do NOT NOT NOT try to take the train from Studios! By the time the first train arrives, the line will be already an hour long!
