What time does

so and so open/close? Does anyone else's SO/DH/DW/DD/DS, etc. ask you that constantly? Anytime my SO wants to go somewhere, he'll ask me what time something opens. This morning it was Lowe's. (he's the one that likes to go there, not me ) Last night he wanted to know as we were driving to his favorite restaurant what time the restaruant closes. He didn't want to get there and be told it closes (it was only 7-7:30 when we got there ). I have asked him before to consult the telephone book for a number then he can use Ma Bell to call them to answer his questions. That usually gets misrepresented. He thinks I'm offering to call for him. I'd rather keep my lazy butt asleep than call, but sometimes I humor him. The best answer for me so far is "why doncha ride up there and see if they're open".

I have no idea what hours companies stay open. I've asked him if I look like I know a wealth of useless information. I'm not sure if his answer of assent is what I'm looking for though.

I always hand my DH the phone and say "why don't you call!". That about kills him!!!

Kitty, if I did that, I'd either get a sour look or have the phone put in my hand. My SO is very phone shy.

Browneyes, maybe it's a man thing because I have been doing that for my Dh for 35 years! So I guess he won't change now. He does not like the phone at all. Even has me call his family and make dinner plans etc. Maybe you are in a newer relationship than DH and I and you can change him before it's too late? Good luck though.

Faith, we've been together for 13 years. I don't think I can unteach him. I've tried several times throughout these 13 years, but he prefers to see me with the telephone, prefers me to have the useless information.

I'm glad I'm not alone in this time/phone thing.

Ladies, we do this because if WE make the phone call, as soon as we hang up you are on us with three dozen questions, none of which had anything to do with why we called in the first place. It's just much simpler to make you call.

Dave, everytime my SO does this I ask him "do you think I know everything-no DON'T answer that-I DON'T." Somehow he doesn't believe me. He seems to think I DO know more than my fair share of useless info. And as far as the "what's best", he does this when I'm sleeping. What's best for him is to leave me in la-la land.

So the dis closes at 6 am my time (EST)? That's the time I get up in the weekday mornings. I might need to test your theory out, JTB.

Bumcat, I get that. too. What's worse is when he tells me what he wants and I remind him when he asks "why did I want to come in here again", then when I tell him, he gives me that "naw, that can't be it" look.

LOL!! Yes my DH used to be phone shy but you give them the phone enough and they learn how to press those little numbers and get thru to someone!!
