during the summer? Is there a time you require them to be off the internet?

I have no idea when they go to bed.

DH and I turn in around 11. They are still up. I don't care what they do as long as they don't wake me up. I usually leave for work before they get up. Right now DD (17) and DS (14) are away.

I don't have a teenager, yet, but my DS8 is always the last one up these days. We go to bed about 10:30 and he's usually watching tv or playing with the playstation in his room until who knows what time. As long as he gets up in the AM when I need him to get up because we're going someplace,we're usually pretty relaxed about his schedule.

We don't have a set time in the summer for bedtime either so they've been staying up way late. Last night DS slept at a friend's and DD went to bed (after my nudging) at about 11:45. Sometimes we do go to bed before them, but there is no internet allowed after we are in bed.

DD is 12 & we make her get off the computer & phone at 10:30. Of course we are soooo mean.

We don't take or make phone calls after 9, and everyone needs to be off the phone by then too.

For the most part, I want everyone in bed before I go...usually 10 PM. The kids are DD (soon to be 15), DD (12), and DS (10). They're welcome to stay up all night reading in their rooms, if they'd like. Oldest DD is the most likely to just go to bed at the first sign of being tired...always the best sleeper, and she babysits almost every day for 3 kids...7, 5 and 2...so she's tired a lot.

That's EXACTLY our rule too! We don't have a problem with her on the Internet -- the only time she's on is when she's doing her online college credit summer courses.

Our DD is 17 and she is VERY BUSY during the summer (interning at a doctor's office and attending/observing his surgeries), working part time at an assisted living facility dining room, volunteering. So, she is up at about most days around 5-7AM, depending on her schedule.

So, she is ready for bed about the same time we are -- mostly no later than 10PM.

But we have no rule about it. She's been responsible enough for about 3-4 years now that she knows what her body needs.
