If we had an early flight home (9:30am) and they say you will leave the resort 3hr prior to departure what time does the airline check in desk open? or do you have to take your luggage and check in at the airport?

Also we are going to need to rent an scooter for my mom. we are planning on renting from a Disney sponsered company. From what I read it said that you can return it to the front desk and they will see that it is picked up. If our flight is early can we return it the night before to the desk?

Thanks for any help. We have been to WDW many times but haven't taken an early morning flight home and didn't need a scooter before.

The resort airline check-in is generally open at 5:00 am. Call the resort directly to make sure that's the case for yours.

Can't answer your scooter question.

RAC, which is where you check your bags opens at 5am. You must check your bags more than 3 hours before your flight departure time.

Regarding the ecv- you can drop it off the night before or the morning of departure. When you book with the rental agency, you give them both your arrival and departure dates and times. But you don't go to the front desk. Either Bell Services or Luggage Services ( depending on your resort) handle equipment rental storage.

Just general information: there are no Disney sponsored companies. There are featured companies designated so because they pay a fee to Disney to be able to use Bell Services.

RAC opens at 5:00 a.m you might want to get to the desk a bit early as I have seen a length line early in the morning.

Can you check your bags with RAC and then ride DME to MCO? Shouldn't b an issue. Your DME pick up time will be, most likely, between 6:15-6:45. You would need to be at the bus stop, ready to go, no less than 15 mins prior to pick up time. Don't be like the couple, last weekend, that came strolling out of the resort, at exactly the pick up time. The driver had to go looking for them.
You should be at the RAC counter when it opens. Certainly no later than 5:15! There can be a line!

You cannot call any resort directly. All published Disney numbers go to their call centers. They will answer as though they are the resort but you will get a call center CM who may have little direct knowledge of the resort.

That said, RAC opens at 5:00 am everywhere.

We have an 8:20 AM flight, if I'm in line at 5:00 will it be a problem if they don't get to me until after 5:20 AM?

Someone with more experience can confirm, but your DME pick up time could be anywhere from about 5:10-5:30 or so. If it's the latter end of that, you probably have enough time to do RAC, but I would get to the desk at about 4:45 in case there is a line and/or they open it a few minutes earlier.

You need to be done, and walking away from the RAC counter no less than three hrs prior to flight departure.
Now....how are you getting back to MCO? If you're taking DME, you could have an issue. With a flight time of 8:20, your DME pickup time could be at any time between 5:05 and 5:35. If it's on the early side, no RAC for you! I actually won't try to use RAC if my pickup time is before 5:30.

We have a rental car. Thanks for the info.

Can we take our luggage on the magical express bus (stow it underneath) and check it ourselves at our airline counter?
