I know that supposedly on Sept 1st is when Southwest releases the new schedule and allows bookings beyond Jan 8th. We're traveling end of January. Is there a specific time that they put the new schedule out and allow bookings??? Should I be awake at midnight on the 31st??? Or is it not until 7a-8a on the 1st?

I want to get good pick of times!!! So is there a specific time they release it for booking??? :confused3 THANKS!! :worship:

When I booked for our trip Jan 2 09, it was at 10:15am EST, but I would check as soon as you get a chance. I do remember once it being early then that. I plan on getting up early and checking. I bought my tickets the day the released for 129pp one way and they continue to go up. Hopefully they will go down at some point. I will be booking my return date of the 16th and I am hoping for a better price.:thumbsup2

If you have DING installed it will notify you when booking becomes available. As a general rule, SWA likes to release new dates at 10:00 AM CST. I would just start watching that morning. They don't release them at mdnight or anything like that.

Historically, 10:00 a.m. Central has been the time of day. But the last two times that SWA has released fares, it has been earlier than that; although not at a consistent time. As a result, I've taken to starting when I get up and more frequently as it gets closer to 10:00 a.m. Not efficient or fun, but what can you do.

does anyone know perhaps where fares will be extended through april? an estimate?

How did you find out the release date would be September 1st? Thanks for any info!

Click on the SWA sight, you will find information about schedule availability under Travel Tools.

Another question -- do they typically keep their schedule 'roughly' the same or is there usually major changes? We're planning to go to Miami the end of January and I'm wondering if their flight times are going to change dramatically?

Thanks again!

Anyone know what the starting price for PVD (Providence) to MCO is on SW?

Jetblue has $89 each way right now from Boston, but I would prefer to fly from Providence. I just don't want to pay more money. Thanks!!!

Nevermind. I just did a quick search and saw $79 flights. Here's hoping I'll be able to find good times tomorrow when the dates are released!;)

SW had been cancelling underperforming flights in order to free up aircaraft to service new cities/ more profitable routes.

SW has been reducing the number of non-stop flights from many cities to airports like FLL and MCO.

I NEED to go to MIA but the closest SW goes is to FLL. I sure wish they'd start flying into MIA!!! But I doubt my dream will come true by tomorrow! I would THINK Miami would be more profitable for them than Ft Lauderdale...but who knows?? (We have a credit to use up....so we have to use SW)

i noticed that too, we are looking for some flights and found there was only 1 non stop a day. there use to be morning/afternoon and evening

This is true. I like PVD better.

Originally from Boston, now live at the mouth of the Connecticut River. PVD is much easier and cheaper to get in and out of..worth about $200 not to do Logan if betwen the two.

I used PVD over BDL/Bradley even though it took 2o minutes more to drive, I saved 40 minutes once there...I think it is due to international airport security taking a lot longer.

I also take HPN in westchester..they give you paper booties so you don't have to walk barefoot on the floors...gotta love the Rich People in Westchester/Greenwich!
