I think the prices will be great:banana:if not I will whine about it tomorrow.:surfweb:

If you cancel your SW tickets, do you have to pay a fee to get the credit?
We just cancelled some NW tickets and it is $150 each if we want to reuse them.

If you choose a non-refundable fare, you will not get a refund if you cancel. However, there is no penalty for canceling. You must use those funds by one year after the original booking. For example, if you book a flight on July 1, 2009 and cancel, you must use those funds (actually fly) by June 30, 2010.

Thanks for the info. I'm wanting to book airfare for our christmas trip. Tomorrow will be the deciding factor if we're flying or driving. :)

Kinda that way with us also, but keep in mind to keep checking because the fares do go down if they can't fill those seats most of the time!

Are the flights with SW at or near their cheapest when they first come out? I a mlooking for Dec. 13 from Ft. Lauderdale to Orlando. After our cruise....

Would it be cheaper to rent a car?

Just out of curiosity.....does anyone know if they release all their fares at the same time, or like AirTran, do they just release the higher priced options, then release the cheap non-refundable tickets a few days later?

Now, that is what I am getting at! Good luck everyone!

What cruise are you taking? We are taking two. One is the Carnival Valor to Grand Cayman, Belize, Houndras and Cozumel. The we go to Disney World and begin a Diseny land and Sea package and sail on Dec. 20th! Back to Disney for Christmas until Dec. 28th!!!!

Have a great cruise!!!!

We are sailing out on the January 2nd Eastern. Can't wait!

Sounds like you will be having a fabulous winter!

Okay......a little over 2 hours to go.

It's usually at 10am Central, but I believe last time it was closer to 11. In any case, it won't be before 10.

Thanks for that info. I took a vacation day today just to book our December flights - I was aware Southwest was to extend their schedule today - and was concerned to see the October 30 limit still there. Just have to wait a while longer. . .

I'm curious about this also. We're looking for Oct. 23 - Oct. 31st. I was going to book onway being the Oct. 23rd flights were already open but I haven't seen any really good deals yet. I just would hate to book something today and then a couple of days later they come out with a DING or something that's like $49! Just wondering what you experienced SW folks thoughts were about the cheapest prices...:goodvibes TIA!

I usually find the best prices to be about a week to 10 days after release. But for some routes and dates (especially holidays), the best prices may be the release date.

I also find that Airtran tries to do a fare sale around the time of Southwest release dates, so I watch them too. Since we are going in December today starts my daily fare checking (actually I usually check multiple times a day).

I'm here trying to concentrate on work, but anxiously awaiting the release!

We're also waiting for our December dates.
I also have to book dates for marathon weekend in January for my siblings & me.
Anxiously waiting & hoping for some good deals!

I too am at work anxiously awaiting the flights. I have to reserve for my family of four AND for my parents---who are actually in WDW right now!!!!

I can see that they're working on it. The Book Flight says till Jan. but then you choose it and get an error.

Just remember when you are comparing Airtran flights to Southwest that you should add in Airtrans luggage fees. Unless you only have carryon, Airtran charges $15 for the first checked bag and $25 for the second. Southwest allows two checked bags for free. :goodvibes
