Hi All,

I am currently planning our 1 year old's first trip and haven't been to MK since the opening show outside the park ended. If the park opens at 9:00, what time will Main Street be open? I'm trying to get there as early as we will be able to since she's up at the crack of dawn!

From the Touring Plans website...I was just looking this up!
  • Magic Kingdom lets guests through the turnstiles and onto Main Street U.S.A. around 60 minutes before park opening.
  • After passing into the park, people are allowed to enjoy the atmosphere on Main Street, but most tend to gather in the hub. (There will be a rope manned by cast members who will prevent you from getting into any of the lands.) The rope will be removed during the Welcome Show (see below).
  • The Magic Kingdom Welcome Show starts at official park opening on the stage in front of Cinderella Castle.
  • After the show, Cast Members will quite literally drop the rope (hence "rope drop") allowing you to walk briskly--but not run--to whatever attraction you desire.

The only stores open are The Emporium and Confectionary
For food it is the Bakery (Starbucks) and the Ice Cream Parlor. Casey's is no longer opening at 8am, they open at 10am now

Do you know how the line is at the Bakery?

I second the EMH question. How are EMH folks allowed into the park (for an 8am opening) vs. the standard rope drop crowd for a 9am opening?

THANKS!!

If we have an 8am breakfast reservation for a 9am opening, how early do they start letting those people in?
also, is that entrance to the far left?

Is the above still current? We plan to be in MK for rope drop next month and just checked info on MDE for Ice Cream Parlor and it says they open at 11am - so no more breakfast items at that location and the only option for walk-ins before rope drop is the Bakery/Starbucks?

I was just there for an 8am open (whole park, not EMH) and the ADR breakfast crew was let in/on to Main Street at 7:40 and the rest of us were let in at 7:45am.

Thanks - so I guess that Main Street being open 60 minutes before rope drop is no longer the case? Can others who have visited MK recently confirm? Thanks!

I was just there on the 29 for EMH. ( I go to Disney about once a month and stay on sight about once every 3 month) they change things up all the time but this is how it works most of the time

For EMH they will open the park just a little before 8 am some most of the time they let the mass of people go right( Tomorrowland and fantasy land are the only lands opened) about 5 or 10 minutes after 8 they let everyone else in this is when they will have these lands roped off and you will need to have your bands scanned ( to make sure you are staying on sight) before going further on the 29 I had my band scanned before going through the turn style to get in and then again to get into the land at the hub.

a few things can hold park opening ( getting on main street ) like if they have a race if there is some vehical still on main street or a number of things but for the most part main street opens at 8 am on a none ENH and 7:45-7:50 for an EMH day
