what time does Animal Kingdom close in May?

thinking about spending the day at Animal Kingdom after our Disney cruise in May. It would be the first weekend of May 2008.

I talked to someone the other day and she said that AK closes at 6pm certain times of the year. Since we only have one day, we would like to stay longer than that, so if they close at 6, we'd have to find something else to do!

From past experiences, is the AK open longer in May?

Looks like 5pm, then 6pm, then 7pm.
Add three hours for EMH nights.

This year with EE and the Nemo Musical drawing larger crowds, they MIGHT close a bit later than last year, but who knows?

Also a rumor (always RUMORS) that they might add a (non-fireworks) "evening spectacular" to DAK... again, its an old rumor.

wow, looks like they are closing at 5pm in May! Well, we may have to rethink our plans then. We are getting off the Disney Magic Saturday morning, and flying home Sunday morning. Is Animal Kingdom big? If we got there at 9:30 - 10, would we see mostly everything by 5? If not, then I think Epcot would be a better choice since it's open longer!

Seriously though, the animals do get tired from being out all day, you won't find DAK opened all that late throughout the year.

I was in Animal Kingdom twice last may (may 10 and 16) and it closed at 6.00 pm.

We were there in May also at the same time. They did close at 6:00P.
But this past May we took my in-laws and their two children (their first time ever at disney) and the kids (8 & 5) were tired by 4:00p so we ate at Rainforest Cafe, then went back to the pool at the WL. They had a blast!
